PEOPLE Magazine has announced the winner of its most-coveted award — Sexiest Man Alive.

And we can’t say we disagree with their 2018 selection.

Joining the ranks of actors Brad Pitt, Chris Hemsworth and Dwayne Johnson, musicians Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, and soccer star David Beckham, is none other than British actor Idris Elba.

Idris’ reign was revealed during The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where the Luther star said, “My mum is going to be very proud!”

During his interview with PEOPLE, the 46-year-old told the publication: “Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise — an ego boost for sure.”
