Anne-Marie and Doja Cat didn’t reveal how their collaboration came about, but they’re no strangers to working with other artists. This year alone, Doja Cat topped the charts with the remix of her hit single “Say So” featuring Nicki Minaj, and collaborated with Gucci Mane, The Weeknd, and City Girls.

Anne-Marie has been pretty busy working on her next album in the last few months, and mostly released solo singles. Before dropping “To Be Young”, she also shared the songs “Birthday” and “Her”.

The Hannah Lux Davis-directed visual is a pastel-colored masterpiece and it sees the singer doing, eating, and wearing whatever she likes on her birthday – perfectly reflecting the lyrics of Anne-Marie’s playful bop.

Anne-Marie’s birthday isn’t until April, but that didn’t stop her from celebrating herself in this lavish and colorful music video. She decided to write this tune after realizing there aren’t many birthday songs out there, and the whole thing came together pretty quickly since she was simply writing about the activities she enjoys doing on her special day.

“Birthday” is expected to be featured on the singer’s upcoming sophomore album, on which there’s still a lot we don’t know about it. Anne-Marie’s first studio album Speak Your Mind came out in 2018, and she scored five Brit Awards thanks to its success.
