The song is also on its way to breaking another record, spending the most time in the Hot 100, with 65 full weeks. The current record is being held by Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” with 87.
“At first I felt like I went overboard with ambition. I’m ambitious, but I thought maybe it was too much. But it wasn’t until people liked ‘Blinding Lights” that I was like, ‘This is so not what now is, and people loved it anyway,’” The Weeknd told Variety about the song’s initial success.
While The Weeknd’s song is breaking records, the singer wasn’t nominated for any Grammys this year.

When it comes to the rest of the Billboard Hot 100 entries for this week, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion returned to no. 1 with “WAP”. BTS’ “Dynamite” took the no. 2 spot, while “Laugh Now Cry Later” by Drake and Lil Durk hit no. 3.
