]]> It’s only been ten days since BTS went on hiatus, and Jungkook is already making waves on his own. He join forces with Charlie Puth in the music video for his latest single “Left and Right”.

BTS fans already had a feeling that a collaboration between Puth and Jungkook was brewing before they even announced it. The radio host JoJo Wright asked the singer if he was working with BTS in an interview, and Puth blew his cover by saying, “We legitimately have no idea the day it comes out.”

BTS and Puth have a shared history together because they previously performed at the Genie Music Awards in 2018. Jungkook was the first person that he thought of while working on this song – long before BTS members announced they were parting ways to focus on solo projects.

“He immediately came to mind because, and by the way, I didn’t even know they were going on a hiatus when I reached out to him and asked if he’d like to be part of it,” Puth told Z100 New York.

“Left and Right” is the latest song from the singer’s upcoming third studio album Charlie. It’s also set to feature songs “Light Switch” and “That’s Hilarious” and its release date is yet to be announced.

]]> After joining forces with Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, and Dua Lipa, Elton John just gave us a collaboration we didn’t see coming. He teamed up with Charlie Puth for “After All”, set to appear on his upcoming collaboration album The Lockdown Sessions.

In an official statement announcing their collaboration, the “Rocket Man” singer described Puth as an “amazing musician” and said that he became a close friend following their work on this song.

“With ‘After All’ Charlie and I were in the studio, just the two of us… I played electric piano and actually wrote the song all the way through and then Charlie wrote the lyrics pretty quickly. He’s incredibly quick, Charlie. We just had an amazing chemistry in the studio,” said John.

Puth echoed this statement and said it was incredible to witness the pop legend writing and recording music firsthand because he’s admired and looked up to him his entire life.

Elton John will release The Lockdown Sessions on October 22nd, and Puth joins the long list of artists he partnered up on this record. “Cold Heart” featuring Dua Lipa was released as the first single, but the album will also feature collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Stevie Wonder, Years & Years, and Gorillaz.

The video opens with Puth cooking up the storm in his kitchen before deciding to order takeout since he’s unable to prepare the simplest meal. After setting the table, he’s too busy dancing around the house to even notice that his date is knocking at the door.

Charlie Puth said he never released a music video that wholeheartedly showed his personality before, but this one finally fully captured who he really is.

“The video for ‘Girlfriend’ is the first time I’ve truly been myself in every aspect. I can’t cook and I’m an absolute nerd. It’s also meant to visually represent what I want people to do when they hear my music and that’s to have fun in their very own way,” said Puth in a statement.

]]> The beat dropped for the last time on Friday as it was announced that renowned DJ Avicii had passed away.

The 28-year-old, whose real name was Tim Bergling, retired from touring in 2016. The Swedish national had made the decision due to health reasons, having suffered from acute pancreatitis due to excessive drinking in the past. The news of Avicii’s passing was confirmed by his publicist, Diana Baron, after he was found dead in Muscat, Oman.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” the statement read. “The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

Aside from having his own hits such as “Wake Me Up,” “Hey Brother,” “Lonely Together,” “Waiting for Love” and “Levels,” Avicii also collaborated with Coldplay, Madonna, and fellow DJs David Guetta and Martin Garrix.

This week, Avicii’s album Avicii (01) was nominated for Billboard Music Award for Top Dance/Electronic Album.

Tributes from fellow musicians have been pouring in since the sad news was confirmed.
