The idea for Curb Your Enthusiasm was generated from a TV special titled Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm, which supposed to be a one-time project and collaboration between David and HBO. The network loved the special and soon produced the first season of the show which premiered in 2000. The show stars Larry David as a fictionalized version of himself. What makes the series special is that David establishes the plot and the subplot of each episode, but the actors themselves are required to fill in the blanks and improvise their lines for the most part.

The guest stars included the main cast of Seinfeld, Rosie O’Donnell, Ben Stiller, Jimmy Kimmel, David Schwimmer, Shaquille O’Neal, and many more.
