This star-studded comedy festival will take place between April 27th and May 3rd, and it’s expected to feature 100 live shows and events, taking place at various venues across L.A.

The list of participants includes the likes of Ali Wong, Amy Schumer, Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, David Letterman, Jamie Foxx, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Kevin Hart, and many more.

Recorded shows will be available on Netflix later this year, and their chief content officer Ted Sarandos said they’re honored to transform Los Angeles into the funniest place on the planet for one week.

“It’s a chance for comedy lovers to come together and see their favorite artists as well as discover new ones, and for us to be able to share the electricity and excitement of the festival in Los Angeles with Netflix members around the world,” said Sarandos in a statement.

The streaming giant has ordered another six-episode season of the Emmy-nominated talk show series. According to Variety, the list of guests for the Emmy-nominated show will be revealed at a later date.

In Netflix’s announcement, the streaming service said Letterman returns to the host’s seat “combining humor, curiosity and in-depth conversations with extraordinary people.”

The first season of the talk show, which was launched in January of this year boasted a six A-listers guests including, former POTUS Barack Obama, Jay-Z, Malala Yousafzai, George Clooney, Tina Fey, and Howard Stern. The six episodes were released once a month.

Lydia Tenaglia, Sandy Zweig, Chris Collins, and Chris Cechin-De la Rosa executive produce My Next Guest for Zero Point Productions alongside Tom Keaney and Mary Barclay for Worldwide Pants.

Season two of My Next Guest will debut on the service in 2019.

“What I respect about him is that he’s the same person,” Jay added. “He [once] interrupted our studio session and stood on a table and started rapping. We were like, ‘Can you please get down’. He was like, ‘No, I am the savior of Chicago’. He didn’t even have a record.”

“He’s brilliant,” Jay concluded.

According to the show’s details, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman will be a monthly event on Netflix. The five additional episodes of the show will air each month from February to June and will feature an influential guest line-up consisting of George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey and Howard Stern.

“Each 60-minute episode of My Next Guest is centered around one extraordinary figure whom Dave finds fascinating,” Netflix described the series. “In interviews that take place both inside and outside of a studio setting, the conversations are intimate, in-depth and far-reaching, with the levity and humor Dave’s fans know and love. Field segments will bring Dave to locations far and wide, expressing his curiosity and desire to dig deeper on a specific topic related to the iconic guest featured in the episode.”

Letterman previously hosted 6,028 episodes of talk shows Late Night and Late Show, which made him the longest-serving late night talk show host in American television history. He retired from the Late Show in 2015 and didn’t participate in TV-related projects since. Still, Netflix lured him back and announced My Next Guest Needs No Introduction in August 2017.

“I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix.” Barack Obamasaid Letterman at the time. “Here’s what I have learned, if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first. Thanks for watching, drive safely.”

Letterman revealed plans to host a new series on Netflix, which will be released sometime in 2018. Unlike his previous stint, which was taped hours before airing, the six episode series will be taped months in advance. Interviews and off field segments will make up the show. Filming is set to take place this fall. This will be the third talk show to be featured on Netflix, joining Chelsea and the recently renewed Bill Nye Saves the World.

Earlier this year Letterman, who has been mostly shying away from television since his retirement, teamed up with Alec Baldwin to co-host Turner Classic Movies’ The Essentials, which features guests discussing some of the greatest movies ever made. He’s set to appear in the upcoming documentary The Industrial Musicals Movie, which also features Martin Short and Florence Henderson. In May, Letterman won the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which is give to those who have made a massive impact in comedy.

Since leaving his talk show after 33 years, his film and television company Worldwide Pants also took a break, but there’s a chance of it returning in the future. “We are trying to put it back together. It would be fun not to be involved in traditional ABC, NBC, CBS television. There’s a billion different places to put something now,” he told Vulture. The company, which was founded in 1991, is responsible for the hit CBS series Everybody Loves Raymond and NBC’s Ed. They also worked with Netflix on the 2016 comedy drama The Fundamentals of Caring.
