Diane Kruger and Ray Nicholson will star in the Neil LaBute feature Out of the Blue. 

Here’s the project’s official description: Nicholson’s Connor life is transformed when he meets enigmatic beauty Marilyn (Kruger). He plunges headlong into the adulterous affair, the ex-con with a heart of gold seemingly destined for the raven-haired trophy wife. The only hitch in their idyllic new life together? Marilyn’s trapped in a nightmare with an abusive husband and vulnerable stepdaughter. Desperate and with a history of violence, Connor will do almost anything to see him dead.

LaBute penned and directed the drama. Berry Meyerowitz and Tara Craig will produce. Jeff Sackman and Larry Greenberg will executive produce.

“Neil LaBute is one of the most ingenious and powerful contemporary filmmakers,” Meyerowitz and Sackman said. “It has been incredible to watch this project take form with the talents of Diane and Ray, and we are eager for filming to begin!”

Principal photography on the feature is set to begin this week in Rhode Island.

The pair met on the set of their film, Sky, in 2015, but did not officially become a couple until after the Inglourious Basterds actress had ended her 8-year-long relationship with The Affair actor, Joshua Jackson, in 2016.

In May, the couple confirmed that they were expecting their first child together — making Diane a first-time mom.

The bundle of joy would be the second for The Walking Dead star who has an 18-year-old son with his ex-girlfriend, Helena Christensen.

Diane and Norman have remained shtum throughout the pregnancy and nothing has changed since the birth, with the baby’s sex, name, and birthdate being kept quiet.
