]]>The documentary from British filmmaker Jeanie Finlay is a two-hour docu, which takes fans behind the scenes of GoT’s cast and crew’s making of the eight and final season led by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
The docu really pulls the curtain on the show’s immense creative work, which includes a team of costumes, hair, makeup, and special effects people among others. According to production designer Deborah Riley, each hour filmed during the eight and final season of GoT cost $15 million or more. “All we were doing in seasons 4, 5, 6 and 7 were training for season 8,” Riley said.
Here’s some things we learned from Game of Thrones: The Last Watch:
The exact moment Kit Harington found out that Jon kills Daenerys in the series finale. The footage of the final table read shows both actors get quite emotional about the fate of their on-screen love.
“I love this show more than anything. It has never been a job for me,” he told the assembled cast, crew and extras afterward, failing to hold back tears. “It has been my life. This will always be the greatest thing I”ll ever do.”
The behind the scenes of Dany’s braided platinum mane. The costumes people decided to make hide Clarke’s dark hair with a white cap to hide the actress’s dark roots (which was more of a problem in earlier seasons, when her own hair was darker.
“That is still the most beautiful hair I will ever have on my head,” Clarke said, looking at her braided wig while sitting in hair and makeup.

]]>The trio decided to put their band on hold (or break-up entirely, depending on who you ask) in 2013, citing creative differences that had supposedly caused a deep rift.
Earlier this year, the band decided to resolve those differences and formally reconcile. The result has been two new songs and a forthcoming album, Happiness Begins.
Part of their comeback is also an intimate and revealing documentary entitled Chasing Happiness.
“There were moments when I thought they’d never speak to me again,” Nick can be seen saying in the trailer for the piece as he speaks about the group’s break-up. “Once we got past the emotional sting of it, we actually had a better relationship.”
“What hurt the most was it came from Nick. He is my best friend… I’d rather we be brothers and not have our band dictate our relationship,” said Joe.
Chasing Happiness will premiere on Amazon on 4 June — just three days before the Jonas Brothers’ album drops.

]]>The Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door singer hit the road with several other musicians including Joan Baez, Roger McGuinn, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Bob Neuwirth, T-Bone Burnett, Mick Ronson, David Mansfield, and Steven Soles, in what has become known as the Rolling Thunder Revue.
Not all of Dylan’s fans were around between ’75 and ’76 to experience the tour, but Netflix has their backs.
The streaming service will be producing a documentary on the 57 show tour, with none other than Martin Scorsese directing.
The Oscar winner previously worked with Dylan on the 2005 film, No Direction Home: Bob Dylan, which focused on the musician’s “going electrical” period circa 1965-66.
Netflix has said described the new film as follows: “Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese captures the troubled spirit of America in 1975 and the joyous music that Dylan performed during the fall of that year. Part documentary, part concert film, part fever dream, Rolling Thunder is a one of a kind experience, from master filmmaker Martin Scorsese.”
The piece is scheduled for release sometime this year.

]]>The film about the life and legacy of the iconic funk artist has been ten years in the making. The feature hails for Brady Spensor who conducted interviews with the musician. The film titled, Dance to the Streaming Music, will include exclusive never-before-seen footage of Sly and the Family Stone as well as other artists.
“It took months before Sly even remembered my name,” Spensor tells Deadline of the decade-long documentary-making process. “But soon after, I would get called at all hours, day or night. This was at a time in his life when things were really difficult for Sly. I became his friend at his most down and out, most financially broke and feel incredibly grateful for Sly’s trust and participation allowing me to document the end of a tragic spiral, then the transition and the outcome of Sly winning a significant lawsuit that may have influenced The Music Modernization Act.”
“This production has been more than a decade in the making and seeing it all coming together is a dream come true,” he continued. “The time we spent together was treasured and any opportunity to be around Sly was exceptional, and I wouldn’t pass it up for anything. When Sly finally collected his royalties after years of being financially strapped and homeless, it warmed my heart.”

The documentary also focuses on Sheeran’s creative process and gives an insight into his songwriting.
“I wanted to focus on him being a songwriter rather than ‘Ed Sheeran the superstar’-type thing. It’s like, this is a guy that’s really good at his job and writes songs all the time — if his brain’s on, he wants to write,” said Cummings about the project. “It takes a lot to write a song; you go down a lot of different channels and not all of them are great. To have a camera on that while that’s happening, I’d imagine it’s quite difficult. I was really lucky to have that happen, and I felt very privileged to be in that situation where [Ed] doesn’t mind that I’m filming while he’s being that vulnerable. So I felt, I’ve got to make something out of this, because who else can?”
Songwriter premiered in North America on Monday at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. According to Billboard, Apple paid “low to mid-seven figures” for the rights on the documentary.
