It was recently announced that Doves will be reuniting after an eight-year hiatus. The band will be joining forces with Teenage Cancer Trust to headline at Royal Albert Hall next year. The gig will be their first in nine years and we couldn’t be more excited.

The reunion has had us wondering whether the band will be releasing new music any time soon. Although it is certainly a possibility, it could be that we have to wait until after the big reunion.

“At the moment we’re just in a room playing the old tunes,” guitarist Jez Williams revealed to Radio X. “We’re hoping the waters are right, the planets are aligned and we get that right vibe and you never say never, but at the moment we’re just concentrating on playing the tunes.”

Williams also revealed that they are planning on adding a few more gigs to their schedule in preparation for their Royal Albert Hall appearance.

“I’m really wanting to hustle for a couple of warm-ups before we go into the Royal Albert Hall because, yeah, it’s going to be interesting,” he said. “Going straight cold into that, you know what I mean, I’m going to need to take a few pairs of underpants with me!”
