Riff Raff follows a former criminal, whose ordinary life is thrown upside down when his family shows up for a long-awaited reckoning. Dito Montiel is directing the film, while John Pollono wrote the script. Signature Films and Canopy Media Partners are producing the project in collaboration with FirstGen Content.

When this crime comedy was initially announced, the Emmy winner Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus), Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman (The Meyerowitz Stories), and Gabrielle Union (Bring It On) were confirmed as its leads.

The ensemble expanded before the production kicks off in New Jersey, and it now includes Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live), Ed Harris (Westworld), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), and Miles J. Harvey (American Vandal), along with Emanuela Postacchini (Robots) and Michael Angelo Covino (The Climb).

The SNL alum Davidson most recently appeared in Craig Gillespie’s Dumb Money, and we’ll next see him in Wizards! Ed Harris will next appear in Love Lies Bleeding alongside Kristen Stewart and Dave Franco. Pullman starred alongside Brie Larson in Lessons in Chemistry this fall, while Harvey played a supporting role in One Of Us Is Lying.

Dustin Hoffman, Candice Bergen, Olivia Thirbly, and The Big Bang Theory castmate Simon Helberg are set to star.

Bialik wrote the screenplay, which according to Deadline is about a “successful divorced mother of two who rekindles love in her life amidst the crazy antics of her dysfunctional family. Now she attempts to convince the stubborn, and comically unfortunate family members to hold it together while they embrace one final farewell.”

Set to produce are Anne Clements (Stage Mother), Ash Christian (After Everything), and Clay Epstein from Film Mode Entertainment.

“It is an incredible honor and a writer and director’s dream come true to work with actors I’ve respected and adored my entire life. I cannot wait to see what we can create together,” Bialik said.
