It sounds like the plot of a Jack Black movie but this is real: a new band called Knifes—a kind of supergroup made from roadies who worked with bands such as Linkin Park and Fall Out Boy—is about to release their first EP.

The band formed after Ben Young, a Linkin Park roadie, stepped in as a last-minute replacement for guitarist Brad Delson during a gig in Brazil. He was called to the front in a few other shows and started writing his own material. Then he formed Knifes together with another one of the band’s roadies Warren Johnson who plays the drums.

In 2017, the duo started working for Fall Out Boy and recruited Brian Diaz, a bass technician, to the group.

Their debut EP Proof Of Concept is set to be released on October 2. The EP includes 5 tracks:

1: The Comedown
2: Disambiguation
3: Standard Issue Frustration
4: Defeated and Humiliated
5: Wise Up (Aimee Mann Cover)

Between them, the three former roadies have worked for some of music biggest names. Their credentials apart from Linkin Park and Fall Out Boy include Guns ‘N Roses, Slipknot, Deftones, Black Eyed Peas, and Pharrell Williams.

Fall Out Boy fans rejoice! The music video for the band’s latest single Bishops Knife Trick is here and let’s just say it’s llama-tastic.

From the very first shot, it’s pretty clear this clip is going to be one crazy ride. The video blurb reads the following: “Patrick took a seat in the director’s chair for the Bishops Knife Trick vid and things didn’t go as planned (or did they?) Let’s just say there was quite a bit of monkeying around on set.” In the next five minutes, Fall Out Boy delivers on this promise.

Stump takes on the role of diva director, who has a hard time inspiring his cast to play along. The trouble he’s going through is highly understandable, since he’s trying to direct a band of llamas. Fall Out Boy front-man isn’t too impressed by their performance and eventually gets fed up by their lack of professionalism. After two llamas start a fight, Stump decides to call it quits and perform the song on his own.

Bishops Knife Trick is the latest single from Fall Out Boy’s seventh studio album Mania. It was followed by a three-song EP Llamania, which is just as hilarious as it seems. All the tunes were performed by the fictional llama band named Frosty and the Royal Tea, who made an appearance in band’s latest video.
