ABC’s forthcoming supernatural drama pilot described as a contemporary reimagining of Dracula hails from Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. Television.

The Brides follows Dracula’s immortal women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy, and their non-traditional family, with Torres plays Cleo Phillips the leader of this vampire trio. Cleo is an imperious woman with a queenly manner —understandably, as she was a queen in her former life who was turned by Dracula after the death of her husband. Now a maven of New York City real estate, Cleo is challenged professionally by a mysterious newcomer — even as her ties to her sisters are dangerously fraying.

Torres most recently played Jessica Pearson in the Suits spinoff series Pearson. Her other credits include The Catch, Revenge, and Westwood.

USA Network has dropped the first trailer for its Suits spin-off Pearson starring Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson. 

According to E! Online the series follows Jessica Pearson, recently disbarred in New York, making a life for herself in Chicago as Mayor Bobby Novak’s right-hand fixer. 

“Some of you are well aware of my past, but I am anxious to give something back,” says Jessica at a press conference at the beginning of the trailer. From the trailer it seems that Jessica dives head first into Novak’s administration’s crooked dealings. 

The series also stars Bethany Joy Lenz, Morgan Spector, Simon Kassianides, Eli Goree, Isabel Arraiza and Chantel Riley.

Pearson halls form Suits creator/executive producer Aaron Korsh and showrunner Daniel Arkin.

Pearson is set to premiere on USA Network this year.

The pilot for this yet untitled spinoff will be written by Suits creator Aaron Korsh and directed by Anton Cropper (Monk and Everybody Hates Chris). The season seven finale of Suits will serve as a backdoor pilot for the spinoff.

“It was an extraordinary pleasure working with Gina on Suits for six years,” said Aaron Korsh about the spinoff. “Beyond her undeniable talent, she is an incredible partner and collaborator, and I always hoped we would work together again. I am sincerely grateful to USA and UCP for giving Dan Arkin, my producing partners at Hypnotic and me the opportunity to continue Jessica Pearson’s journey in this new series that will encapsulate all that our fans love about her and Suits – but with its own distinct story that will be unique to the franchise.”

After serving as one of the main cast members for the show in first five seasons, Gina Torres left Suits during the season six, after her contract expired. She returned in seasons seven as a recurring cast member. Besides her work on Suits, Gina Torres is also known for her roles in television series like Firefly, Standoff, and Hannibal.

After season seven wraps up, Suits will undergo some major changes. Two main stars of the show, Patrick J. Adams, and Meghan Markle won’t return for season eight while Dulé Hill will become a series regular. Former Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl will join in the role of Samantha Wheeler, a new partner at Pearson Specter Litt.
