Even though most movies have been delayed due to the pandemic, Warner Bros. has pushed up Godzilla vs. Kong two months before it was set to be released.

Godzilla vs. Kong will now be released on March 26 instead of May 21, in theaters and on HBO Max.

The fourth entry in Legendary’s monster universe is directed by Adam Wingard and written by Terry Rossio. Reportedly, the film cost around $160 million to make.

It follows 2004’s Godzilla, 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, and 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The last film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, didn’t do so well stateside making only $110.5 million, but did better abroad with $276.1 million, grossing a total of $386.6 million.

The film will have the two most powerful forces in nature clashing in an epic battle. A conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures from earth after a squadron goes on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins and mankind’s survival.

The upcoming crossover event stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, and Brian Tyree Henry.
