After the success of The Stranger, Netflix is now working on another Harlen Coben adaptation which will reunite the bestselling author with the show’s producers.

Deadline, which was the first to publish the story, Netflix is finalizing a deal to adapt the 2012 novel Stay Close with British producer Red Production Company.

Netflix and Red are still working out the details of the project, including attaching a writer and cast. Danny Brocklehurst was the lead writer on Red’s adaptations of The StrangerSafe, and The Five.

Stay Close tells the story of Megan, a suburban soccer mom who once upon a time walked on the wild side, Ray, who used to be a documentary photographer but now finds himself posing as a paparazzo, and Broome, a detective who can’t let go of a cold case. the three confront the dark side of the American dream and discover the hard truth that the line between one kind of life and another can be as whisper-thin as a heartbeat.

Coben signed a five-year overall deal with Netflix in August 2018, which included a pact to develop 14 of his titles into English language and foreign-language series, as well as films. The latest project to emerge from the partnership is The Woods, which has been adapted as a Polish original. The series premieres on June 12.

It was revealed earlier this month that Netflix has acquired Coben bestseller Six Years for Bright director David Ayer to write, direct, and produce.
