The Crown was right behind with 10 nominations, including the best drama. Its competition in this category will include three Sky Atlantic series – I Hate Suzie, Gangs of London, and Save Me. The list of major contenders at this year’s ceremony also includes the critically acclaimed mini-series I May Destroy You, Normal People, and Adult Material.
2021 British Academy Television Awards will be held on June 6th, with Richard Ayoade returning to host for the second time.

]]>I May Destroy You, which was created and fronted by the talented Michaela Coel, was one of the biggest hits on television in 2020. It received praise from both audience and critics, but this won’t be enough to bring us more episodes.
According to Bloys, the main reason for the series’ end is that Coel wants to focus on other projects. “I don’t think there’s going to be another I May Destroy You, there’s no season two coming,” said Bloys. “But she’s thinking about what she wants to do next, and hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to partner with her again.”
I May Destroy You centers on a young novelist, Arabella, who “seeks to rebuild her life after being raped.” The show originally premiered back in June on HBO in the U.S. and on BBC in the UK, wrapping up in August after 12 episodes.
It was featured on almost all of the “Best TV shows of the Year” lists and was often placed on No.1. The series already received Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Series – Short Form and an Independent Spirit Award for Best Ensemble Cast in a New Scripted Series, while being nominated for several more. It was recently snubbed from the Golden Globes’ list of nominees.
