Netflix is currently developing an intriguing crime series, The Serpent, and its cast is shaping up to be pretty great. Jenna Coleman joined this show alongside rising stars Billy Howle and Ellie Bamber.

The Serpent will tell the story of Charles Sobrhaj, played by Tahar Rahim, one of the most notorious killers of the 20th century. Jenna Coleman said she’s excited about joining this series and diving in into “the dark seductive world of Charles Sobhraj”.

“I’m so looking forward to delving into hippie trail depths and bringing to life this unfathomable real-life story alongside Tahar, Billy, Ellie, Tom, Richard and the wonderful cast and production team for the BBC and Netflix,” stated the actress.

Jenna Coleman rose to prominence with the role of Doctor’s companion Clara Oswald on the popular sci-fi series Doctor Who. She went on to score the lead role in historic drama Victoria.

Howle and Bamber are equally excited and honored to join her in The Serpent, and team up with each other in an attempt to bring Sobhraj’s story to life.
