Here is something you might not have known about Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence. She didn’t finish middle school and doesn’t have a diploma of any kind. The 27-year-old revealed this during her interview with 60 Minutes.

“I dropped out of middle school,” – Lawrence told Bill Whitaker. “I don’t technically have a GED or a diploma. I am self-educated.”

Asked whether she regrets making that decision, the Red Sparrow star said that she doesn’t.

“I wanted to forge my own path. I found what I wanted to do and I didn’t want anything getting in the way of it,” – she added. “Even friends, for many years, were not as important to me as my career, I mean, from the age of 14.”

You can check out the sneak peek of the interview below, while the full interview will be aired on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Although it must have looked like a crazy decision back then, today’s success of Jennifer Lawrence shows that she made the right decision. Lawrence started her acting career in 2006 with a small role in the television film Company Town and went on to have guest appearances on TV shows like Monk and Medium.

After being a series regular on TBS’ The Bill Engvall Show, Lawrence starred in the 2010’s movie Winter’s Bone, which turned out to be her breakthrough role. She went on to star in the X-Men film series as a younger version of the character Mystique and snatched the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. Jennifer Lawrence continued to enjoy success in the following years, starring in multiple blockbuster hits as well as winning an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Tiffany Maxwell in 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook.
