Honey, I Shrunk the Kids could be making a comeback thanks to Disney.

Multiple outlets report that Disney is in negotiations with original director Joe Johnston to helm another installment of the Shrunk film franchise.

The new iteration was pitched to Disney by Josh Gad earlier this year, and the studio jumped on board the idea, but have yet to officially greenlight the project.

The original 1989 pic starred Rick Moranis as Wayne Szalinski, a scientist and father who accidentally shrinks his son and daughter, along with the two brothers from next door. When they are thrown out with the trash, the four kids must travel through their backyard to return home.

According to Variety, in the new film Gad will play Wayne’s grown-up son, who follows in his father’s footsteps by not only becoming a scientist but also accidentally shrinking his children.

When Hurricane Irma took aim at Florida, many people in the Sunshine State found themselves needing to prepare however they could for one of the largest storm systems in U.S. history. As residents stocked up in preparation for the worst, shortages for gas, water, flashlights, food and hotel rooms became a common sight across Florida.

Celebrities were no exception, and luckily for actor Josh Gad, one of his co-stars from Frozen was there to save the day for his family.

Gad’s family is from Hollywood, Fla., a northern suburb of Miami that found itself directly in the path of Irma’s fury. With some areas such as the Keys under mandatory evacuation and the hurricane heading toward Tampa, where they had initially fled in hopes of reaching a safer part of Florida, Gad’s parents found a total lack of hotel rooms available to them.

Luckily for them, Kristen Bell, who was in Orlando to shoot Like Father offered to share her hotel room with Gad’s parents. In fact, she actually offered to share her room with Gad’s entire family if necessary to keep them safe.

The Gad family weren’t the only people receiving assistance from Bell. With the hurricane bearing down and her safety secured, she headed out into the Orlando area and did what she could to help those in Irma’s path stay as safe as they could and prepare for a lengthy recovery period in case this was the storm that wrecked the Floridian peninsula.

As for Gad’s family, their story was not an atypical one. With the storm set to cover the whole state, Floridians throughout the southern part of the state found issues finding hotel rooms as far north as Atlanta, forcing many of them to take a convoluted route away from the storm or simply ride it out and hope for the best.

Gad’s family made it through Irma with Bell’s help, and he certainly hasn’t forgotten. He says he plans to find a way to repay Bell for the kindness she showed toward his family, as well as continue to find ways to help victims of both Irma and Hurricane Maria, which ripped through Puerto Rico just days after Irma had passed through.
