Lana Condor (To All the Boys film series) and Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) will soon appear in the third season of Abbott Elementary, alongside Cree Summer (A Different World), Tatyana Ali (The Young and the Restless), and Karan Soni (Miracle Workers).

We don’t know much about their characters at this point, but they’re expected to join the Abbott teachers in the upcoming weeks. Summer will be the first guest star gracing the halls of Abbott Elementary in the upcoming episode “Librarian”, set to air on March 13.

The guest-starring lineup of Abbott Elementary was pretty packed even before these five actors hopped on board. The Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, Brandon Graham, and Jason Kelce made cameos during the season premiere, while Bradley Cooper appeared as himself in a recent episode that aired after the Academy Awards ceremony.

Season 3 of Abbott Elementary premiered on ABC on February 7, and it will feature a total of 12 episodes. Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, William Stanford Davis, and Sheryl Lee Ralph lead the show’s ensemble cast, alongside new recurring players Josh Segarra, Kimia Behpoornia, and Benjamin Norris.

Their roles in this origin story are yet to be revealed, but they all seem like a stellar choice. Colman is the critically acclaimed Academy Award winner, Hawkins has two Oscar nominations under her belt, Atkinson is one of Britain’s biggest comedy legends of his generation, and Carter received several Emmy nominations for his role on Downton Abbey.

This amazing quartet is just the latest addition to the cast of Wonka, also set to include Timothée Chalamet and Keegan-Michael Key. The rest of the supporting cast has also been announced, and it will feature Mathew Baynton, Tom Davis, Simon Farnaby, Rakhee Thakrar, and Natasha Rothwell, among others.

Wonka is being directed by Paul King, and it will tell the story of a young Willy Wonka, prior to the opening of his world’s most famous chocolate factory. The highly-anticipated musical is set to open in theaters on March 17th, 2023.

Plot details and Key’s role have been kept under wraps, but we do know that the movie will be a prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and will look at the upbringing of the infamous Wonka.

Charlie and his fellow golden ticket winners who appear in Roald Dahl’s book and the film, won’t be in Wonka.

Paul King (Paddington) is directing and David Heyman (Harry Potter) will produce the film.

King wrote the screenplay with Simon Farnaby with prior writers who include Simon Rich, Simon Stephenson, Jeff Nathanson, and Steven Levenson. Luke Kelly and Alexandra Derbyshire will serve as producers and Michael Siegel will executive produce.

Key is known for playing half of the comedic duo Key and Peele and he recently starred in Schmigadoon and The Prom. His other credits include Pitch Perfect 2, The Lego Movie, Toy Story 4, and Jon Favreau’s remake of The Lion King.

Wonka is scheduled to debut in theaters on March 17, 2023.

Murphy posted a photo posing next to Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, Keegan-Michael Key, and the rest of the cast of this project, and revealed he’s hoping to release this project by the end of the year.

“Meet the incredible icon-packed cast of Netflix’s The Prom. A group of true troopers who buckled up and finished shooting during COVID so we could give everybody an inspirational aspirational story that we all need right now. Christmas is right around the corner…,” wrote Murphy on Instagram.

The Prom is based on the Broadway musical of the same name, and it centers on a troupe of self-obsessed theater stars arriving to a conservative Indiana town to support a high school senior who wants to take her girlfriend to the prom.
