]]>James McAvoy and Claire Foy are set to star in the movie, a remake of a French movie of the same name. McAvoy will play a father whose son went missing. He’ll travel to the city in which his ex-wife lives in order to find out what happened and bring his son home. However, as in the French original, McAvoy will not be given a script or any dialogue beforehand. While the other cast members will know what is happening, McAvoy will have to improvise and discover the plot himself.
Christian Carion, who directed the original movie, will helm this one as well. The movie rights were bought by STXfilms.
Adam Fogelson, chairman of STXfilms Motion Picture Group said that the group is thrilled about the new movie adaptation to wider audiences. “James will be doing the detective work of the film in real-time, on camera, to create real tension for this thriller. We like to support bold and innovative storytelling like My Son, and Claire could not be a more spectacular or exciting choice for this film which is certain to thrill audiences.”
