]]>The Kids’ Choice Awards were originally scheduled to take place on March 22nd, with Chance the Rapper serving as a host, and Justin Bieber and Quavo performing their hit song “Intentions” during the ceremony. These plans fell through in the face of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and the future of the event remained uncertain.
Nickelodeon eventually decided to hold the ceremony virtually on May 2nd, and it sounds pretty amazing so far. Victoria Justice will replace Chance the Rapper as a host, but that’s not the only surprise.
Avengers: Endgame scored the most nominations at this year’s ceremony, and the cast members of the smash-hit are expected to tune in via video. The list of guests will also include Dwayne Johnson, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, and many more.

]]>The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards took place on Saturday night at the Form in Inglewood, California, complete with famous faces, live voting, and, of course, slime.
Professional wrestler, John Cena, took over hosting duties for the second year running. Shawn Mendes, Mel B, Liza Koshy, and Heidi Klum were just some of the peeps who got covered in green goo.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was awarded Favourite Movie, with its star, Dwayne Johnson, claiming Favourite Movie Actor. Zendaya took home the female equivalent.
In the TV category, Stranger Things shone with the series being named Favourite TV Show, and Millie Bobby Brown being crowned Favourite TV actress. Favorite TV actor went to Henry Danger star, Jace Norman.
Despite announcing their hiatus, Fifth Harmony was named Favourite Music Group, while former member Camila Cabello, was recognized as Favourite Breakout Artist. Shawn Mendes and Demi Lovato were crowned Favourite Male and Female Artist, respectively. Ed Sheeran beat out Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars to claim Favourite Song for “Shape of You.”
Good choices, kids!

]]>“It’s an awesome show!” said Cena to E! News. “It is like the thrill of being in a WWE show, which is the thing I enjoy the absolute most, and Kids’ Choice Awards is that thrill and that experience. Nickelodeon’s production value is amazing. Every show is just outstanding and what they do for the kids in the audience and the kids at home is spectacular. The show is for the kids and so designed for the audience absolutely and it’s so fun. You get to be a big kid.”
As previously mentioned, this will be Cena’s second time to host the awards, since he hosted in 2017 as well. Given the fact that kids love Cena and that he made a great show last time, this isn’t a surprising decision by the network. Previously Candace Cameron Bure, Whitney Houston, Rosie O’Donnell and Jack Black all hosted the awards on multiple occasions.
Hosting the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards won’t be the only involvement John Cena will have with the network this year. It was also revealed that he will have a voice role in the upcoming cartoon series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is set to premiere later in 2018. Besides that, Cena has an executive producer role on Nickelodeon’s upcoming competition series Keep It Spotless, where kids compete who will stay clean for longer time.
