The world got to know just how perfectly suited Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are for each other when the English couple and their kids starred on the reality series The Osbournes. 

The Black Sabbath frontman began dating his long-serving wife in 1979 after the band her father managed kicked him out and she took over his personal management. The two married three years later and are parents to Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. 

Ozzy and Sharon’s 42-year relationship will now be the subject of a film from Polygram Entertainment that will be penned by Oscar-nominated screenwriter, Lee Hall, who most recently wrote Elton John’s biopic, Rocketman. 

“Our relationship at times was often wild, insane, and dangerous, but it was our undying love that kept us together,” said The Talk co-host. “We’re thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.”

Sharon will produce the feature, along with Aimee and Jack.

The album will land on the streaming platforms on Friday, September 18. Apart from the original songs, such as “Crazy Train”, “Mr. Crowley”, and “Suicide Solution”, the album will include the bonus tracks “You Looking At Me, Looking At You” (originally the B-side to “Crazy Train”), “Goodbye to Romance” (2010 Guitar & Vocal Mix) and album outtake “RR”.

The album will also include 7 live songs from the Blizzard Of Ozz tour, songs like “You Said It All”, “Steal Away”, and “Revelation”.

In addition, two live concert movies: Live & Loud from 1993 and Live at Budokan form 2002, which were only available on VHS/DVD till now will also be released in a digital version. These movies are hard to come by online.

Last month, Osbourne made it clear that he is not going anywhere. “You know the time when I will retire? When I can hear them nail a lid on my box,” he said. “And then I’ll fucking do an encore. I’m the Prince Of Darkness.”

The series will have Jack Osbourne trying to convince his parents of the validity of clips of paranormal activity. Jack shares video footage of poltergeists, haunted dolls, UFOs, and unidentifiable beasts, and Ozzy and Sharon will review and critique each video.

Jack said in an interview that his parent’s schedule has opened up due to the coronavirus and that they were now able to take part in the project, which mainly takes place in their home.

His sister, Kelly Osbourne, won’t be part of the series, but this is the first time three members of the family will be on TV together since their MTV show ended.

“We see if I can poke at my parents,” Jack said in an interview adding that It’s actually going to be a lot of fun.”

The show’s set to debut on August 2.

The Prince of Darkness recently participated in a Reddit AMA session and said he’s making another album because he can’t tour. The work on Ordinary Man got his creative juices flowing, and he seems to be in the right place to make some new music.

Osbourne also admitted that the last year has been tough for him, which isn’t much of a surprise for his fans. He recently canceled the upcoming North American dates on his No More Tours II to focus on his health, but he’s hoping to get back on the road this fall.

Osbourne’s latest album Ordinary Man was released on February 21st, to positive reviews. It featured several high-profile collaborations, including Post Malone track “It’s a Raid”, and the titular song “Ordinary Man” featuring Elton John.

The decision to cancel follows various health issues experienced by the veteran musician over the past year. 

“I’m so thankful that everyone has been patient because I’ve had a sh*t year,” Osbourne shared. “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to Switzerland for treatment until April and the treatment takes six-eight weeks.”

He continued, “I don’t want to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute, as it’s just not fair to the fans. I’d rather they get a refund now and when I do the North American tour down the road, everyone who bought a ticket for these shows will be the first ones in line to purchase tickets at that time.”

Osbourne’s new album Ordinary Man comes out on February 21.

“People keep asking me when I’m retiring,” Osbourne said in a statement. “This will be my final world tour, but I can’t say I won’t do some shows here and there.”

Osbourne’s final tour will kick off in May 2018 with dates in Mexico and South America including 4 shows in Brazil. After these shows, Osbourne will tour Russia and then embark on a month-long journey through Europe, where he will perform on some of the biggest music festivals including the Download Festival. The details of the North America part of the tour will be announced in 2018. Osbourne will be backed by a band consisting of guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman. It is expected that Osbourne presents a new material during the tour since he started working on a new solo album, his first after 2010’s Scream.

The announcement of his last tour comes just nine months after Black Sabbath played their last show. The original Black Sabbath line up consisting of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward reunited in 2011, announcing a new album and a world tour. Eventually, drummer Bill Ward backed down from the reunion and was replaced by Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk. In 2013 Black Sabbath released critically acclaimed 13 and began the farewell tour titled “The End”. The final two shows of the tour were held in February in band’s hometown of Birmingham. In March 2017, members of the band officially announced that Blacks Sabbath has disbanded.
