The first half of Rick and Morty season 4 landed on Adult Swim at the end of last year. These episodes have only just landed on Netflix in conjunction with the second half of season four landing on Adult Swim.

Now, the show creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have teased that season five is already in the works. They shared a rough sketch during a Comic-Con panel.

In the teaser, Rick and Morty look as if they are done for. Rick has given up and in a desperate bid to save them, Morty manages to steer the crumbling ship through the earth’s atmosphere.

Thinking he is about to die, Morty finally phones Jessica to tell her how he feels. When she agrees to go on a date with him, he steers the ship into the ocean, deciding that he wants to live. Unfortunately, Rick’s “biggest foe” Mr. Nimbus is waiting for him.

Last week, the official Rick and Morty Twitter account shared an unusual teaser for the new season of the show. The clip shows a series of Mortys being ushered off a cliff and into a horrific adventure. Funnily enough, the creatures holding the anxious Mortys at gunpoint are Mr. Meeseeks.

The Mortys then tumble into a terrifying sequence of danger. When the clip ends, a group of Ricks are sitting around the sofa playing the videogame. The sketch is just a sample animation and has not yet taken its full shape. Whether the concept will be included in a future episode or if it is just a teaser is unknown.

In other news, we still have no idea when the new season of Rick and Morty will land. There has been no recent update but we have been assured that there will not be another two-year gap.
