]]>The induction ceremony was previously moved from May 2nd to November 7th due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the organizers eventually decided to bring it back in a different form.
John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, said that they decided to avoid scheduling a live ceremony this year in an attempt to protect the health and safety of everyone involved.
“Together with HBO and executive producer Joel Gallen, we will still create an exciting program honoring our 2020 inductees, by telling the stories of their incredible contributions to music and impact on a generation of artists that followed them,” stated Sykes.
The list of this year’s inductees includes Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, T-Rex, and The Notorious B.I.G.

]]>The musical institution announced that the 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony scheduled to take place May 2 has been postponed to an unknown date later this year.
“The health and safety of our fans and visitors is our highest priority,” the organization told CNN in a statement. “Given recent news regarding coronavirus and the urging by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine regarding large public gatherings, we have made the decision to postpone the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Induction Week festivities until later this year.”
Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G. and T-Rex were going to be inducted, with Jon Landau and Irving Azoff were set to be the recipients of the Ahmet Ertegun Award for industry professionals.
