Dean and Sam will face familiar foes in Supernatural’s final season. 

After opening the gates to hell in the season 14 finale, the 15th and final season of The CW’s drama will see the Winchester boys battle (again!) all those things they’ve sent to hell. 

“You and me versus every soul in hell? I like those odds,” Dean tells Sam in the trailer for the final season set to kick off Thursday, October 10. To which Sam adds, “If we win this, we’re free.”

Will the brothers’ adventures finally end? Jared Padalecki thinks there’s only one way for the duo to really have peace. 

“I always said I wanted them both to die,” he said during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con this summer,” later clarifying, “I think that was my way of saying I want them to achieve peace. I feel like Sam and Dean find some version of peace. Whether or not that’s alive or dead….”

The longest-running series on The CW is coming to an end with a 20-episode 15th season. The show was renewed for a 15th season back in January.

The announcement was made by series’ stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins. The video was posted on Instagram Friday. 

“We’re very excited to be moving into our 15th season, it will be our last,” Ackles said. “15 years of a show that has certainly changed my life, I know it’s changed these two guys’ lives, and we just wanted you to here from us that though we’re excited about next year, it will be the finale.”

“We’ve cried some tears and we’ll cry some more, but we’re grateful and we’re going to work all that emotion into next season,” added Padalecki. 

“Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera. For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros Television and The CW has been incredible. We’d like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this journey so special. It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the send off they deserve,” exec producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb said in a joint statement.

The show hit its 300th episode milestone last month, and at the time of its series finale, the series will have aired over 320 episodes. According to Deadline, the show continued to be a fan favorite ranking as the CW second most watched and highest rated among adults 18-49.

Multiple outlets report that the CBS criminal drama will end after 15 seasons. 

CBS has confirmed the news announcing that the show, will come back for another season, but it will be its last.

“It is the quintessential CBS hit. We are so proud to have aired it,” said CBS’ EVP of current programs, Amy Reisenbach. “It speaks to everything we do best, which is air quality television. It’s been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC [Studios].”

“It’s really bittersweet, but I’m so, so grateful to CBS for giving us this heads-up,” Erica Messer, executive producer, told TVLine. “I think one of my biggest fears was always, ‘Oh man, what if we don’t know’ and then they just don’t bring back the show? But they respect this series and the cast and the crew and the fans enough to end this properly.”

The show follows the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit who profile criminals while investigating crimes. The 10-episode 15th season is set to air in the 2019-2020 season. By then Criminal Minds would have produced more than 320 episodes making it one of the longest-running dramas on television.

The additional episodes, were announced Monday, January 7. 

According to multiple reports ABC has expanded the medical drama’s order with three additional episodes, bringing the season’s episode count to 25. This also means that Season 15 marks the second-longest season in the series’ history, second to Season 2 run of 27. 

This season of Grey’s will also mark another milestone for the show — the second half of the season, Grey’s will surpass ER as the longest-running medical drama ever. 

While Grey’s is set to return later this month, back in September Giacomo Gianniotti, who plays Dr. DeLuca, teased of Meredith and his love life: 

“Last season, in the finale, they shared this drunken kiss. We didn’t know what it meant but there was something there. Meredith kind of pushed it off and it’s something we’ve been revisiting in this season,” Gianniotti told Entertainment Tonight. “Definitely in the premiere you’re going to see it right out of the gate, which is basically what you saw in the trailer, but it’s going to be a little longer, a little bit more detailed. I think we’re going to see something blossoming between them: A friendship? A friendship that could be more? At the moment, we don’t know. … We are definitely building some romance, but to what degree, I don’t know.”
