The Basic Instinct star will be the fifth actress in a row to receive the honor. Juliette Binoche won the award in 2020 while the list of past Golden Icon Award recipients includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cate Blanchett, and Glenn Close, among others. 

Following the ceremony, the festival will screen Martin Scorsese’s 1995 classic Casino, which stars Stone in the lead role. The work on the movie earned Stone a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and Academy Award nomination in the same category.

“Sharon Stone is a true icon of the seventh art,” said ZFF’s Artistic Director Christian Jungen in a statement. “She is a woman that Hitchcock would have loved. Her distinguishing qualities include an irresistible charm, a great human depth, the talent to play a whole range of roles, and the ability to captivate an audience like no other.”

Sharon Stone found success as both a movie star and television actress. Besides Basic Instinct and Casino, she had prominent roles in features like Total Recall, Sliver, and The Mighty. Stone’s most recognizable television works include the legal drama The Practice and murder mystery Mosaic. She received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress for the former one.

More recently, Stone was part of Netflix’s psychology thriller series Ratched and starred in Steven Soderbergh’s The Laundromat.

One of the newest to hit the dating market is Bumble where female users have to send the first message. Who says you have to wait for a man to make the first move?

One actress who is all about female empowerment is Sharon Stone, so it makes some sense that The New Pope actress would select Bumble as her app of choice to get in the game. Stone has been married and divorced twice, with as many failed engagements. But that doesn’t mean she’s given up on looking for love. 

Some users on Bumble spotted her profile, but they strongly doubted that the 61-year-old would be on the app, so they reported the profile for being fake. The only problem is, it wasn’t! Stone appealed to Bumble on Twitter, asking them to reactivate her account after it was shut down. 

“Being the icon that she is, we can understand how so many of our users felt it was too good to be true once they noticed her profile wasn’t photo verified,” said a Bumble representative before adding that they were “so honoured that Ms. Stone wants to be a part of the Hive.”

The mom of three’s account has now been restored and we hope she finds love soon!

HBO confirmed Friday that Sharon Stone and Marilyn Manson will guest star on the forthcoming series The New Pope.

They join Jude Law who starred in the first installment as the leader of the Catholic Church and is set to reprise his role, as well as the previously announced John Malkovich.

While no further details have been divulged by the premium cabler, the previously released first-look images of Malkovich and Law, feature them both in similar papal vestments so it’s fair to assume that the sequel will feature two popes, much like the recent real-life situation that resulted in there being two living popes for the first time in centuries. From Manson’s first-image it seems that the provocative persona will portray a character very similar to his real-life self.

Other returning cast members include Cecile de France, Ludivine Sagnier, and Silvio Orlando.

Murphy’s frequent collaborator Sarah Paulson, who received a Golden Globe for American Crime Story, will play titular character in Ratched. Her involvement is nothing new, but Murphy finally revealed who’ll be joining her on this incredible journey.

He shared the list of 10 actors who’ll also star in Cuckoo’s Nest prequel, including Cynthia Nixon, Sharon Stone, Judy Davis, Corey Stoll and Finn Wittrock. It’s still a mystery who they’re going to play, and it’s unclear if any of the original characters will make a comeback.

This promising series will be set in 1947 and it will track nurse Ratched’s murderous progression through the mental health care system. It will be Murphy’s first collaboration with Netflix – this streaming service ordered two seasons, consisting of nine episodes each.
