The setting of the teaser is too dark to uncover more, which is something that Shazam! addresses at the end of the clip by saying that it “probably would have been a good idea to have like one light on.”
Sandberg captioned the trailer with “coming soon…ish,” reminding the fans of the long wait that is ahead of them. Shazam! Fury Of The Gods is currently on track for a June 2, 2023 release date.
The first Shazam! movie was released back in 2019, receiving positive reviews and earning $366 million at the box office. The sequel entered the development shortly after, with Sandberg, Levi, and writer Henry Gayden all agreeing to return. Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler joined in major roles later on.

]]>Now, at DC FanDome, a virtual convention dedicated to DC franchises, the movie’s director, David F. Sandberg, revealed the new title—Shazam: Fury of the Gods. this announcement was made at a special panel dedicated to the sequel which included Sandberg and some of the cast members.
The sequel was originally set for an April 2022 release, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the date was moved to November of that year. This gives the crew more time to develop the movie, and they were tight-lipped about any other detail apart from the title.
This leaves fans speculating about the narrative of the new movie and about the identity of the gods that are apparently so infuriated they made their way to the title. Shazam, the word used by Billy Batson to turn into a superhero, is an acronym of Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury. One of his most famous antagonists, Black Adam uses the word as an acronym for the Egyptian gods: She, Heru, Amon, Zehuti, Aton, and Mehen. So there is no shortage of gods to whom the title may refer.
