The 77-year-old actor is now past of the live-action Star Wars series’s cast set to launch on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+.

Nolte has joined the previously announced Pedro Pascal (Narcos) and Gina Carano. While Disney has kept plot and character details under wraps, the production has released an official synopsis.

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.” 

The series hails from Jon Favreau, who will executive produce with Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Dave Filoni. Filoni will also direct episodes, as will with Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow.
