The best-selling book series The Baby-Sitters Club is being adapted for television — again.

Netflix confirmed Thursday that it is working on a reboot of the beloved The Baby-Sitters Club based on Ann M. Martin’s book series. Martin will also serve as producer on the series.

“I’m amazed that there are so many passionate fans of The Baby-Sitters Club after all these years, and I’m honored to continue to hear from readers — now grown, who have become writers, editors, teachers, librarians, filmmakers — who say that they see a reflection of themselves in the characters of Kristy and her friends,” Martin, who will also be producing the new show said in a statement. “So I’m very excited about the forthcoming series on Netflix, which I hope will inspire a new generation of readers and leaders everywhere.” 

The streaming put in an order for a 10-episode live-action season. The series will follow the five best friends in Stoneybrook, Connecticut, who form a babysitting business. Episodes will explore topics such as racism, divorce, school, sibling rivalries and jealousy.

The reboot will be helmed by Rachel Shukert (Supergirl and GLOW writer).
