The world got to know just how perfectly suited Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are for each other when the English couple and their kids starred on the reality series The Osbournes. 

The Black Sabbath frontman began dating his long-serving wife in 1979 after the band her father managed kicked him out and she took over his personal management. The two married three years later and are parents to Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. 

Ozzy and Sharon’s 42-year relationship will now be the subject of a film from Polygram Entertainment that will be penned by Oscar-nominated screenwriter, Lee Hall, who most recently wrote Elton John’s biopic, Rocketman. 

“Our relationship at times was often wild, insane, and dangerous, but it was our undying love that kept us together,” said The Talk co-host. “We’re thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.”

Sharon will produce the feature, along with Aimee and Jack.

Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne will join their son, Jack, for eight-hour-long episodes of The Osbournes Want To Believe. The series will have Jack Osbourne trying to convince his parents of the validity of clips of paranormal activity. Jack shares video footage of poltergeists, haunted dolls, UFOs, and unidentifiable beasts, and Ozzy and Sharon will review and critique each video.

Jack said in an interview that his parent’s schedule has opened up due to the coronavirus and that they were now able to take part in the project, which mainly takes place in their home.

His sister, Kelly Osbourne, won’t be part of the series, but this is the first time three members of the family will be on TV together since their MTV show ended.

“We see if I can poke at my parents,” Jack said in an interview adding that It’s actually going to be a lot of fun.”

The show’s set to debut on August 2.

“There’s been talk about bringing The Osbournes back, but it would never work,” said Jack Osbourne, who will serve as the host of the podcast. “I thought, ‘Well, this is probably the next best thing.'”

The guest list of The Osbournes Podcast includes Sheryl Underwood, Carnie Wilson, and Greg Johnston, while some familiar faces from the show will also make an appearance including Big Dave the Manny and Melinda Varga.

Jack promises that the fans will get the same insight into their lives via podcast as they did when The Osbournes aired on MTV.

“Everyone is really open and honest about a lot of things,” he added. “It’s pretty candid.”

During its time on TV, The Osbournes was extremely popular, achieving the highest ratings in MTV’s history as well as winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program in 2002. Since the show ended in 2005, there were several attempts for a revival including the one in 2015 when several new episodes were recorded. The project was abandoned shortly and the episodes never made it on TV.

Ozzy and Jack eventually made their return to the TV without the female part of the family, starring in History’s Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour, in which they explore interesting sites in world’s history.
