While he’s not completely new to the silver screen, the actor best known for his starring roles in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, has joined the series adaptation of The Staircase. Which means that after a 26-year absence, Ford is set to make his return to TV for his first-ever series regular role.

The French docuseries follows American novelist Michael Peterson‘s trial after he was accused of murdering his wife in 2001, per Variety. 

In addition to starring, Ford is also on board as executive producer. Penning the series is Antonio Campos. 

Ford’s television credits include roles on The Virginian, The F.B.I., and Gunsmoke.
