CBS’s new legal drama is pulling back the curtains on the court system in Los Angeles.

According to Deadline, Wilson Bethel has joined the cast of CBS’s pilot Courthouse, and will star the previously announced lead, Jessica Camacho.

Courthouse follows the dedicated, chaotic, hopeful, and sometimes absurd lives of the judges, assistant district attorneys, and public defenders as they work with bailiffs, clerks, cops and jurors to bring justice to the people of Los Angeles.

Bethel will play Mark, a roguish, highly successful Deputy District Attorney whose best friend and colleague has been just been appointed a judge. Never great with boundaries, Mark struggles with the personal and professional changes in their relationship.

The pilot will be directed by Mike Robin from a script penned by Greg Spottiswood. Spottiswood will also executive produce. Len Goldstein and Robin also exec produce and Warner Bros. TV is the studio.

Bethel’s other credits include the CW’s Heart of Dixie and was and ABC’s The Astronaut Wives Club.
