]]> Sharpen your claws, folks, because Kristen Wiig has entered the building. With production already underway on the Wonder Woman sequel, director Patty Jenkins has shared some glimpses of the cast with us over the last month.

First came the surprise reveal that Chris Pine will be making a return as Steve Trevor, As well as the title of the film — Wonder Woman 1984.

Next came an image of Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot:

And now, we have our first look at the villain of the movie, Cheetah, played by Ms. Wiig. The character — whose real name is Dr. Barbara Minerva — has been described in the comics as an ambitious British archaeologist who experiences severe pain and physical disability while in her human form and bloodthirsty euphoria when in her cat form.

She has until the 1st of November 2019 to change her spots.

]]> Released in May 2017, Wonder Woman was one of the rare strikes for the DC Extended Universe in the last couple of years. Upon its release, Wonder Woman became a huge hit with both audience and the critics grossing $821.8 million worldwide. This is why most of DC fans are eagerly expecting Wonder Woman 2.

So far, we knew that Wonder Woman sequel is set to start with filming in the summer of 2018 with a November 1, 2019, release date. For everyone who is on the edge of their seats, the film’s director, Patty Jenkins, decided to reveal some further details about the sequel, saying it will bring some new exciting characters while also being a “funny and a great love story” once again.

“It’s really still going to other values of hers, and a similar formula insofar as making a great, enjoyable fun movie but that ultimately in its third act turns some very big issues, and a very big experience that will aim to have slightly more weight and profundity than it has to have. Because that’s a formula that I really like, and I like the idea of taking somebody on a very solid, great journey but that arrives at a bigger question being answered. So it’s like that but because she is Wonder Woman and she’s here now and she’s fully developed, it’s got great fun from the start and great big superhero presence from the start and is funny and a great love story again and a couple new unbelievable characters who I’m so excited about, who are very different than were in the last movie.”

Patty Jenkins is currently working on the script for Wonder Woman 2 alongside Godzilla writer Dave Callaham. Jenkins also revealed that the sequel will be set in America, unlike the first movie which was set in World War I-era England.
