]]>“The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career,” Anna Faris said in a statement. “I’m so thankful to Chuck, the writers, and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience. While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I’ll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family.”

Mom first aired in 2013 and the show focuses on the relationship between daughter/mother duo Christy (Farris) and Bonnie Plunkett (Allison Janney), who after being estranged for years while struggling with addictions, try to mend their lives and relationship while staying sober.
Mom also stars Mimi Kennedy, Jaime Pressly, Beth Hall, William Fichtner, and Kristen Johnston.
The show was renewed for two seasons early last year and it’s still unclear how Faris’ character will be written out of the show and if the show will go on for a ninth season. The show promises to address Faris’ Christy’s absence in the first episode of Season 8.
