]]>According to Variety, Robert Pattinson will follow in the footsteps of George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck in playing Batman.
The new film, entitled The Batman, will be helmed by Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves who has also penned the script.
He will take over from Affleck who directed himself in the last few Batman pictures, including Justice League.
Pattinson has come along way from his days as sparkly vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight and its four sequels. He will next be seen in High Life, The Lighthouse, The King, and Waiting for the Barbarians. In addition, the 33-year-old is set to begin production on Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming feature.
Production on The Batman is scheduled to start in the fall, with Warner Bros. releasing the film on June 25, 2021.

]]>Nothing is official just yet, but Hammer seems like a good replacement for Affleck in upcoming superhero flick directed by Matt Reeves. This film is scheduled for 2021 release date and it will focus on a younger and less-experienced version of Batman.
Before reports of Hammer’s involvement started making the rounds online, a couple of other young Hollywood stars were linked with this project. Ansel Elgort, Dylan O’Brien, Logan Lerman, Noah Centineo, Jack O’Connell, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were reportedly also in the talks.
Despite a couple of smudges on his resume, Armie Hammer managed to reinvent himself in the last couple of years with roles in critically acclaimed projects The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Call Me by Your Name and Sorry to Bother You. We’ll next see him in thriller Hotel Mumbai, also starring Dev Patel and Jason Isaacs.

]]>During his recent appearance on Graham Bensinger’s In Depth, Jon Hamm was asked by Bensinger about rumors that he is interested in playing Batman. While Hamm explained that he was never offered the role, he admitted he was intrigued by the idea.
“It depends…on the script, what the story is,” he told Bensinger. “I am a huge comic book fan, always have been…it depends on the story. It all comes down to the story.”
After Bensinger pressed him a bit more, Jon Hamm decided to offer an answer that will get the DC fans excited.
“I’d probably fit the suit. I’d have to work out a lot, which I don’t love,” – the 47-year-old actor said. “I am sure there’s an interesting version of that being out there and if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it, why not?”
