The Caped Crusader has a new face (or should that be mouth and jaw?)
According to Variety, Robert Pattinson will follow in the footsteps of George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck in playing Batman.
The new film, entitled The Batman, will be helmed by Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves who has also penned the script.
He will take over from Affleck who directed himself in the last few Batman pictures, including Justice League.
Pattinson has come along way from his days as sparkly vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight and its four sequels. He will next be seen in High Life, The Lighthouse, The King, and Waiting for the Barbarians. In addition, the 33-year-old is set to begin production on Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming feature.
Production on The Batman is scheduled to start in the fall, with Warner Bros. releasing the film on June 25, 2021.
