BBC America announced that the cast of Orphan Black is getting back together virtually for a reading of episodes 106 and 107 from the show’s first season in support of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. 

“Kristian Bruun and I started talking about the idea of doing an OB reunion back when everything had shut down. We wanted to show love to Clone Club and help raise some money for people who are disproportionately affected during this difficult time,” said Tatiana Maslany. “We chose two charities, CenterLink and Sistering Toronto. CenterLink supports over 250 LGBTQ community centers across the world. Our LGBTQ fans have always been deeply important to us. Sistering Toronto helps at-risk, socially isolated women and trans people in Toronto, who are certainly in dire need right now of support, resources, and healthcare. In addition to raising funds, we hope that we can bring some joy to the fans, something intimate just for them, make them feel connected to the Clone Club community even if we’re all far apart.”

The event, reuniting Tatiana Maslany, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Jordan Gavaris, Kristian Bruun, Kevin Hanchard, Dylan Bruce, Evelyne Brochu, Josh Vokey, Michael Mando, Inga Cadranel, Eric Johnson and Natalie Lisinska, will stream live on the series’ official Facebook page on May 17.

Just one day after its Season 2  premiere, BBC America on Monday announced Killing Eve has been renewed for a third season. 

The series about feminine duo — an MI6 operative (Sandra Oh) and psychopath assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) bound by mutual obsession – is based on the Codename Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings

In the forthcoming season, Suzanne Heathcote will be taking over for Emerald Fennell as lead writer and executive producer. Fennell is set to take over as creator for Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

“I’m very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for season three. We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote’s hilariously murderous hands,” said Waller-Bridge. 

“It’s been such an exciting year for me on Killing Eve. I think it’s cool that this tradition has been built into this untraditional show. Inheriting some of Phoebe’s characters was a treat — I can’t wait to see what Suzanne does next,” Fennell said.

“I think the key thing is maintaining a through-line with the incredible understanding our actors have of their characters,” Barnett said. “So much of the show has been established, I think, in terms of these characters and in terms of this amazing casting… I think that there’s a lot that will keep this show going…if the writers change season to season, it’s about picking great people.”

The series earned two Emmy award nominations and 14 BAFTA TV Award nominations, with Oh taking home a Screen Actors Guild award in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series category.

The critically acclaimed series that follows British MI6 agent Eve Polastri (Oh) in pursuit of psychopath assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer) will return April 7. Oh and Comer will reprise their roles as the mutually obsessed women alongside new cast members including, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Shannon Tarbet, Nina Sosanya, Edward Bluemel and Julian Barratt.

“Killing Eve is picking up exactly 36 heart-thumping seconds after the events of the season finale,” said Sarah Barnett, President of AMC Entertainment Networks. “This new season is packed with superlative performances and is as twisty, subversive, darkly funny, nerve-wracking and pleasurable as our fans could desire.”
