]]>SZA and Beyoncé were competing against the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Drake, 21 Savage, DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, and GloRilla for the ceremony’s shiniest trophy. BET voters struggled to make a choice between Beyoncé’s Renaissance and SZA’s SOS and eventually decided to give the album of the year award to both artists.
In addition to tying for this accolade, both singers took home two more trophies. Beyoncé won BET Her Award and Viewer’s Choice Award for her catchy single “Break My Soul”, while SZA was named best female R&B/pop artist and picked up the award for video of the year with “Kill Bill”.
When it comes to the movie categories, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was the biggest winner of the night, defeating the likes of Creed 3, Nope, and The Woman King to be named the best movie. Its star Angela Bassett picked up the award for best actress, while the Snowfall star Damson Idris was named the best actor.

]]>Beyoncé is currently busy with her all-stadium Renaissance World Tour, and she prepared a special surprise for those who had to miss it. She dropped a new version of “America Has a Problem”, with Lamar contributing such verses as “My momma told me that the money outgrew you / My horoscope said I’m really out my noodle, I’m troublin’, I’m puzzlin’, it’s sudoku / Say B, yes, America got a problem.”
Lamar most recently collaborated with Beyoncé on the song “Freedom” from her 2016 album Lemonade. He joined her for live performances of this song at the BET Awards and during her closing Formation Tour show and was very impressed by her work ethic.
“[I’ve learned] how particular to be about your music. She’s a perfectionist. Think about the BET performance. She was very particular – the lighting, the camera blocking, the transition from the music to the dancing. It was confirmation of something I already knew,” Lamar told The Rolling Stone.

]]>“Cuff It” was originally released as the second single from Beyoncé’s seventh studio album Renaissance, which hit the shelves last summer. This song eventually peaked at no. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and went on to win a Grammy for the best R&B song.
Renewed interest in this song can be credited to the “Wetter Remix”, which mashes it up with the instrumental of “Wetter” by Twista. After seeing it go viral, Beyoncé decided to officially release the remix with new vocals and lyrics back in February.
With 34 weeks spent on the Billboard Hot 100, “Cuff It” is the longest-charting hit of Beyoncé’s career as a solo artist. The record was previously held by her Lady Gaga collaboration “Telephone”, which peaked at no. 3 and spent 33 weeks on the chart.
Beyoncé is now just one week away from matching her longest Billboard Hot 100 stay with Destiny’s Child. Their smash hit “No, No, No” spent 35 weeks on the chart back in 1997-98.

]]>Beyoncé came into the ceremony as the most-nominated artist with nine nods, and managed to pick up four awards: best dance/electronic recording (“Break My Soul”), best dance/electronic album (Renaissance), best traditional R&B performance (“Plastic Off the Sofa”) and best R&B song (“Cuff It”).
It was also a big night for Harry Styles, who defeated the likes of Adele, Bad Bunny, and Lizzo to win one of the night’s biggest awards – album of the year. Despite missing out on album of the year, Lizzo managed to pick up the record of the year award with “About Damn Time”.
One of the night’s biggest shockers saw Bonnie Raitt defeat the likes of Harry Styles, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift to win song of the year with “Just Like That”. The best new artist award went to the jazz singer Samara Joy, who defeated the likes of Måneskin, Latto, and Anitta to get her hands on this trophy.
The list of major winners also included Maverick City Music with four awards, and Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Kirk Franklin, and Kendrick Lamar with three each. The 65th Annual Grammy Awards took place on February 5, with Trevor Noah returning to host for the third time.

]]>Beyoncé announced 41 dates so far, including 15 in Europe and 26 across North America. She’ll kick the tour off with a concert at Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on May 10, before heading to Paris, London, Barcelona, and Amsterdam and closing the European leg of the tour in Warsaw, Poland.
The North American leg will kick off in Toronto, Canada on July 8, with the Rogers Centre serving as a concert venue. She’ll go on to perform everywhere from Nashville and Chicago to Atlanta and Las Vegas, before finishing the tour on September 27.
Beyoncé’s last tour in support of her album Formation took place seven years ago and it also saw her perform solely in stadiums. The singer recently had her first concert in four years at a private party in Dubai, and reportedly received $24 million for her performance.
Beyoncé’s upcoming tour is meant to support her seventh album Renaissance, which is in the running for nine awards at the upcoming Grammys.

]]>Beyoncé and Lamar are in pretty good company, with Adele, Harry Styles, and Brandi Carlile both in the running for seven Grammy Awards this time around. They’re closely followed by Mary J. Blige, Future, and record producer The-Dream with six nods each.
Beyoncé’s Renaissance and Lamar’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers are two of the albums in the running for album of the year. They’ll have to face tough competition in Adele’s 30, Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti, Lizzo’s Special, Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, and several more albums that this past year will be remembered by.
Many of these artists are also in consideration for song and record of the year. The list of tracks nominated in both categories includes Adele’s “Easy on Me”, Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul”, Harry Styles’ “As It Was”, Lizzo’s “About Damn Time”, and Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5”.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 5, 2023, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

]]>Following its release on July 29, Renaissance earned 332,000 equivalent album units during its first week on the chart, easily hitting No. 1. Album sales comprise 190,000, SEA units comprise 138,000, while TEA units comprise 4,000 of the record’s total sales.
Renaissance’s debut is the second largest this year, behind Harry Styles’ Harry’s House with 521,500 units earned during its first week on the chart. This also marks the biggest debut of the year for a female artist and the first album released by a woman in 2022 to top the chart, following Adele’s 30.
The release of Renaissance was preceded by one single—“Break My Soul”. It peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and we’re yet to see if the release of the full album will improve its rating.
Renaissance is Beyoncé’s first solo album since Lemonade, but she’s been pretty busy since. In addition to teaming up with Jay-Z on The Carters’ Everything Is Love in 2018, she also released Homecoming: The Live Album and led The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack in 2019.

]]>The album’s lead single, “Break My Soul” was dropped in June and entered the Billboard Hot 100 in 15th place. A week later it climbed into the Top 10, peaking at No. 7. By doing so, Beyoncé achieved the 20th Top 10 single of her solo career, becoming the first female artist to do so.
The song has been described as a catchy dance track with a ‘90s-style house beat. Written in collaboration with the “Brown Skin Girl” singer’s husband Jay-Z and Big Freedia, it samples the latter’s 2014 tracks “Explode” and “Show Me Love” by Robin S from 1993.
Beyoncé has now also released a cappella and instrumental versions of “Break My Soul”. The renditions come a week before Renaissance is due to hit shelves.
The Grammy Award winner also unveiled an alternative version of the cover art for her seventh studio album. The original featured Queen Bey sitting atop a holographic horse whilst in a bikini. The other is similar, although the 40-year-old singer is seen wearing a silver outfit, sequinned chains, and a cowboy hat.
Renaissance drops on July 29.

]]>The tracklist includes only one track that we’re currently familiar with—the lead single “Break My Soul”. The song titled “I’m That Girl” is set to open the album, while the rest of the tracklist includes such titles as “Summer Renaissance”, “America Has a Problem”, and “Alien Superstar”.
A few weeks ago, Beyoncé shared the album cover that shows her posing on a luminous horse. The photo was accompanied by a lengthy statement, where she reflected on the process of creating this album, saying it allowed her “a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.”
“My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music” wrote Queen B.
Renaissance will be released on July 29, marking the singer’s first solo studio album since her seminal 2016 record Lemonade.

BET voters struggled to make a choice between Beyoncé’s Renaissance and SZA’s SOS and eventually decided to give the album of the year award to both artists.
In addition to tying for this accolade, both singers took home two more trophies. Beyoncé won BET Her Award and Viewer’s Choice Award for her catchy single “Break My Soul”, while SZA was named best female R&B/pop artist and picked up the award for video of the year with “Kill Bill”.
When it comes to the movie categories, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was the biggest winner of the night, defeating the likes of Creed 3, Nope, and The Woman King to be named the best movie. Its star Angela Bassett picked up the award for best actress, while the Snowfall star Damson Idris was named the best actor.

]]>Beyoncé is currently busy with her all-stadium Renaissance World Tour, and she prepared a special surprise for those who had to miss it. She dropped a new version of “America Has a Problem”, with Lamar contributing such verses as “My momma told me that the money outgrew you / My horoscope said I’m really out my noodle, I’m troublin’, I’m puzzlin’, it’s sudoku / Say B, yes, America got a problem.”
Lamar most recently collaborated with Beyoncé on the song “Freedom” from her 2016 album Lemonade. He joined her for live performances of this song at the BET Awards and during her closing Formation Tour show and was very impressed by her work ethic.
“[I’ve learned] how particular to be about your music. She’s a perfectionist. Think about the BET performance. She was very particular – the lighting, the camera blocking, the transition from the music to the dancing. It was confirmation of something I already knew,” Lamar told The Rolling Stone.

]]>“Cuff It” was originally released as the second single from Beyoncé’s seventh studio album Renaissance, which hit the shelves last summer. This song eventually peaked at no. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and went on to win a Grammy for the best R&B song.
Renewed interest in this song can be credited to the “Wetter Remix”, which mashes it up with the instrumental of “Wetter” by Twista. After seeing it go viral, Beyoncé decided to officially release the remix with new vocals and lyrics back in February.
With 34 weeks spent on the Billboard Hot 100, “Cuff It” is the longest-charting hit of Beyoncé’s career as a solo artist. The record was previously held by her Lady Gaga collaboration “Telephone”, which peaked at no. 3 and spent 33 weeks on the chart.
Beyoncé is now just one week away from matching her longest Billboard Hot 100 stay with Destiny’s Child. Their smash hit “No, No, No” spent 35 weeks on the chart back in 1997-98.

]]>Beyoncé came into the ceremony as the most-nominated artist with nine nods, and managed to pick up four awards: best dance/electronic recording (“Break My Soul”), best dance/electronic album (Renaissance), best traditional R&B performance (“Plastic Off the Sofa”) and best R&B song (“Cuff It”).
It was also a big night for Harry Styles, who defeated the likes of Adele, Bad Bunny, and Lizzo to win one of the night’s biggest awards – album of the year. Despite missing out on album of the year, Lizzo managed to pick up the record of the year award with “About Damn Time”.
One of the night’s biggest shockers saw Bonnie Raitt defeat the likes of Harry Styles, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift to win song of the year with “Just Like That”. The best new artist award went to the jazz singer Samara Joy, who defeated the likes of Måneskin, Latto, and Anitta to get her hands on this trophy.
The list of major winners also included Maverick City Music with four awards, and Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Kirk Franklin, and Kendrick Lamar with three each. The 65th Annual Grammy Awards took place on February 5, with Trevor Noah returning to host for the third time.

]]>Beyoncé announced 41 dates so far, including 15 in Europe and 26 across North America. She’ll kick the tour off with a concert at Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on May 10, before heading to Paris, London, Barcelona, and Amsterdam and closing the European leg of the tour in Warsaw, Poland.
The North American leg will kick off in Toronto, Canada on July 8, with the Rogers Centre serving as a concert venue. She’ll go on to perform everywhere from Nashville and Chicago to Atlanta and Las Vegas, before finishing the tour on September 27.
Beyoncé’s last tour in support of her album Formation took place seven years ago and it also saw her perform solely in stadiums. The singer recently had her first concert in four years at a private party in Dubai, and reportedly received $24 million for her performance.
Beyoncé’s upcoming tour is meant to support her seventh album Renaissance, which is in the running for nine awards at the upcoming Grammys.

]]>Beyoncé and Lamar are in pretty good company, with Adele, Harry Styles, and Brandi Carlile both in the running for seven Grammy Awards this time around. They’re closely followed by Mary J. Blige, Future, and record producer The-Dream with six nods each.
Beyoncé’s Renaissance and Lamar’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers are two of the albums in the running for album of the year. They’ll have to face tough competition in Adele’s 30, Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti, Lizzo’s Special, Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, and several more albums that this past year will be remembered by.
Many of these artists are also in consideration for song and record of the year. The list of tracks nominated in both categories includes Adele’s “Easy on Me”, Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul”, Harry Styles’ “As It Was”, Lizzo’s “About Damn Time”, and Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5”.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 5, 2023, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

]]>Following its release on July 29, Renaissance earned 332,000 equivalent album units during its first week on the chart, easily hitting No. 1. Album sales comprise 190,000, SEA units comprise 138,000, while TEA units comprise 4,000 of the record’s total sales.
Renaissance’s debut is the second largest this year, behind Harry Styles’ Harry’s House with 521,500 units earned during its first week on the chart. This also marks the biggest debut of the year for a female artist and the first album released by a woman in 2022 to top the chart, following Adele’s 30.
The release of Renaissance was preceded by one single—“Break My Soul”. It peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and we’re yet to see if the release of the full album will improve its rating.
Renaissance is Beyoncé’s first solo album since Lemonade, but she’s been pretty busy since. In addition to teaming up with Jay-Z on The Carters’ Everything Is Love in 2018, she also released Homecoming: The Live Album and led The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack in 2019.

]]>The album’s lead single, “Break My Soul” was dropped in June and entered the Billboard Hot 100 in 15th place. A week later it climbed into the Top 10, peaking at No. 7. By doing so, Beyoncé achieved the 20th Top 10 single of her solo career, becoming the first female artist to do so.
The song has been described as a catchy dance track with a ‘90s-style house beat. Written in collaboration with the “Brown Skin Girl” singer’s husband Jay-Z and Big Freedia, it samples the latter’s 2014 tracks “Explode” and “Show Me Love” by Robin S from 1993.
Beyoncé has now also released a cappella and instrumental versions of “Break My Soul”. The renditions come a week before Renaissance is due to hit shelves.
The Grammy Award winner also unveiled an alternative version of the cover art for her seventh studio album. The original featured Queen Bey sitting atop a holographic horse whilst in a bikini. The other is similar, although the 40-year-old singer is seen wearing a silver outfit, sequinned chains, and a cowboy hat.
Renaissance drops on July 29.

]]>The tracklist includes only one track that we’re currently familiar with—the lead single “Break My Soul”. The song titled “I’m That Girl” is set to open the album, while the rest of the tracklist includes such titles as “Summer Renaissance”, “America Has a Problem”, and “Alien Superstar”.
A few weeks ago, Beyoncé shared the album cover that shows her posing on a luminous horse. The photo was accompanied by a lengthy statement, where she reflected on the process of creating this album, saying it allowed her “a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.”
“My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music” wrote Queen B.
Renaissance will be released on July 29, marking the singer’s first solo studio album since her seminal 2016 record Lemonade.

]]>Beyoncé really kept us waiting for her new album Renaissance—but it was worth the wait. The lead single “Break My Soul” is the ultimate house banger that we’ll be dancing to all summer long. She’s yet to share more details about this record, but Variety reported it will feature dance and country-leaning tracks.
Lizzo gave us one of the songs of the summer with “About Damn Time”—and that’s just the beginning. This catchy track serves as the lead single from her upcoming album Special and we can’t wait to hear it in full in just ten days.
Several pretty exciting alternative albums are coming our way this month, but none of them compares to Maggie Rogers’s Surrender. It serves as the follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut LP Heard It in a Past Life and she gave us a taste of things to come with singles “That’s Where I Am” and “Want Want”.
