]]>Swift’s most recent LP 1989 (Taylor’s Version) returned to No. 1, with 141,000 equivalent album units earned during its latest week on the chart. Four more of her former No. 1s also charted in the top 10, including Midnights at No. 3, Folklore at No. 5, Lover at No. 6, and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) at No. 10.
There are several reasons behind Swift’s recent Billboard 200 domination. Like many titles on the chart this week, Swift’s albums experienced major gains due to retail promotions associated with Black Friday and holiday campaigns. The lack of major album releases around Thanksgiving also helped Swift’s old records climb up the charts.
Taylor Swift is the only artist after Prince to chart five albums in the top ten on the Billboard 200. He achieved this milestone following his death in 2016 when his albums The Very Best of Prince, the Purple Rain soundtrack, The Hits/The B-Sides, Ultimate Prince, and 1999 all made it to the top ten.

]]>West’s latest studio album, Jesus Is King, which dropped on October 25, has hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
According to Nielsen Music, the gospel-inspired album sold 264,000 equivalent album units in the US in the first week. Streaming was the majority of that number with the remaining 109,000 in album sales.
West’s nine consecutive peak debuts mean that he is officially tied with Eminem for the most consecutive No. 1’s on the Billboard 200 charts.
West (and Eminem) are still far, however, from the record of most No. 1s on the Billboard 200 of all time. Holding that record are the Beatles with a whopping 19! They are followed by Jay-Z with 14, Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand with 11 each, and Elvis Presley with 10.
