The Academy of Country Music Awards honored the best and brightest country artists of the year at a scaled-down ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee. The list of winners was pretty colorful, with Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, and Maren Morris leading the pack.

Morris topped the list of nominations with five nods and eventually walked away with two awards. She was named as the best female artist for the second year running, and picked up the trophy for the song of the year with “The Bones”.

Luke Bryan picked up the award for entertainer of the year for the third time, while Chris Stapleton set his own personal record in the album of the year category. His latest album Starting Over became his third studio effort to pick up this award.

The list of major winners also included Carly Pearce and Lee Brice who collected trophies for single and the music event of the year with their collaboration “I Hope You’re Happy Now”. Thomas Rhett also had a reason to celebrate, as he was awarded his third male artist of the year award.

The 56th Academy of Country Music Awards took place on April 18 and were broadcasted from several venues in Nashville, Tennessee.

The 2021 Academy of Country Music Award nominations has been announced and leading the pack are Maren Morris and Chris Stapleton with six nods each.

Miranda Lambert has five nods and Ashley McBryde, Thomas Rhett, and producer Jay Joyce have four each. Luke Combs, Eric Church, Ingrid Andress, Carly Pearce, Hardy, Keith Urban, and producer Dann Huff have three nominations. With two nominations are Luke Bryan, Gabby Barrett, Brothers Osborne, Kane Brown, producer Dave Cobb, and the late producer Busbee.

Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, and Thomas Rhett have been nominated in the Entertainer of the Year category, a category which Bryan and Rhett have previously won.

The show will air on April 18 and will take place at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House, Ryman Auditorium, and Bluebird Cafe. No host has been announced yet.
