]]>Netflix describes this exciting drama as a fresh take on the Arthurian legend. It centers on teenager Nimue who joins forces with mercenary Arthur on a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword.
Cursed is based on a book by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler, so it doesn’t come as a surprise it won’t be your classic “damsel in distress” fairy tale. It re-imagines the legend we all know and love and allows us to see the story through the eyes of a teenager who goes on to become the famous Lady of the Lake.
The reason Netflix picked up this project is that they were captivated by its themes, familiar to our own time – the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war, and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.
Katherine Langford decided to join Cursed a few months after leaving hit teen drama 13 Reasons Why, which transformed her into an overnight sensation. The young actress said this show will always be an important part of her life, but she felt it’s time to say goodbye after fully telling Hannah Baker’s story.
