Katherine Langford Shows a New Queen’s in Charge in “Cursed” Trailer

Katherine Langford in "Cursed"

Since starring in 13 Reasons Why, Katherine Langford has made it to the big screen in Love, Simon and Knives Out. Her next project is starring in the upcoming Netflix series Cursed.

Langford will play Nimue of Arthurian legend in the adaptation of the illustrated novel by Thomas Wheeler and Frank Miller. Nimue is “a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake,” according to the series logline.

Cursed will follow Nimue’s adventures with a mercenary named Arthur after her mother dies and the pair search for Merlin to bring him the ancient sword.

“They came while we slept, to cleanse the world of our kind. Because we’re different. Because magic runs through us,” Langford says in the short trailer. “Because we have what they want. Legend says this sword belongs to the one, true king. But what if the sword chooses a queen?” she continues.

Also starring in the series are Devon Terrell (Barry), Gustaf Skarsgard (Vikings), Sebastian Armesto (Broadchurch), and Matt Stokoe (Bodyguard).

Cursed will debut on Netflix on July 17 and you can watch the trailer below.
