]]>The two-minute clip shows Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill once again rally his team around him to defend the universe and embark on a mission that could mark the end of the Guardians of the Galaxy as we know them.
The new trailer also sees Zoe Saldaña return as Gamora, despite being killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. As Marvel keeps exploring the concept of the multiverse, we’ll see a younger version of Gamora lead a shady group of space people called the Ravagers.
In addition to Pratt and Saldaña, the third Guardians of the Galaxy film will see Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper return to their respective roles, and it will also feature Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova, and Sylvester Stallone.
Just like the previous two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, the third installment has been written and directed by James Gunn and it will premiere on May 5.

]]>In the Marvel comics, Warlock was introduced as an artificially created perfect human being, who rebelled against his creators and managed to escape them. His appearance in the MCU was teased in a post-credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) mentioned creating the perfect sovereign, capable of defeating the Guardians.
According to Deadline, the director James Gunn started a lengthy search for an actor who would play Warlock back in August. He met up with several other actors before Poulter won the part, and he’s expected to join the rest of the cast when the production kicks off in November.
Poulter rose to prominence with roles in We’re the Millers and The Maze Runner franchise, and he has one BAFTA award under his belt. His credits also include The Revenant, Detroit, and Midsommar, and we’ll next get to see him in Hulu mini-series Dopesick.

]]>Multiple outlets confirm that Disney has reinstated Gunn as the helmer of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This news comes after Gunn was fired mid-2018, after old, offensive tweets written by Gunn resurfaced.
Back in July, after his firing, Gunn released a statement in which he apologized for writing the offensive tweets.
“My words of nearly a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative. I have regretted them for many years since — not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don’t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time.”
Now, following Disney’s decision he writes, “I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months,” Gunn tweeted Friday. “I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be. I deeply appreciate Disney’s decision and I am excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all. I have been, and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love to you all.”
The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise has been hugely successful with the 2014 Guardians movie earning more than $773 million worldwide and 2017’s Guardians hauling an impressive $863 million.
