The post Jack Harlow Tops Billboard Hot 100 With “Lovin On Me” appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>“Lovin On Me” initially debuted at No. 2, behind Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer”, but quickly climbed to the top spot. It attracted 23.6 million streams, 20.8 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 11,000 downloads during its latest week on the chart.
Harlow celebrated the news by sharing the screenshot of Chart Data’s report that he hit No. 1 on Instagram and captioned it with the words, “Warming up. More coming.” He’s yet to reveal if “Lovin On Me” will be a part of any future albums or EPs, but it wasn’t included on his latest studio album Jackman, which came out back in April.
As for the rest of the Billboard Hot 100 for this week, former chart-topping hits “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift and “Paint the Town Red” by Doja Cat took the No. 2 and No. 3 spot. Several holiday classics, including Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” made it to the top 10, and so did Tyla’s viral hit “Water”.

]]>With 5.1 million streams during its first week on the chart, “Lovin on Me” easily soared to No. 1, becoming Harlow’s very first song to do so. He came pretty close to topping the UK Official Singles Chart twice before, with the Lil Nas X collaboration “Industry Baby” at No. 3 and “First Class” at No. 2: both of which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Hitting No. 1 this week is quite an achievement, given the tough competition he had to face along the way. Harlow blocked Dua Lipa from reaching the top spot with her new single “Houdini”, while Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” jumped to No. 3 following his recent Grammy nod for best new artist.
“Lovin On Me” was released on November 10, about a month after the snippet of this song went viral on TikTok. It’s not associated with Harlow’s third studio album Jackman, which came out back in April.

]]>The title of Harlow’s third studio album is a clear reference to his full name Jackman Thomas Harlow. He shared nothing but its title, cover, and release date, but we won’t have to wait for long to learn more about it since it will be released on April 28 via Generation Now and Atlantic.
Jackman will be released less than a year since Harlow dropped his sophomore studio album Come Home the Kids Miss You, which hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart last May. He made quite a splash with its singles “Nail Tech” and “First Class”, with the latter hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming his first solo song to do so.
The announcement of Harlow’s new album comes as a shocker since it seemed he’s mostly been focusing on his acting career in recent months. He’ll make his acting debut in the upcoming remake of White Men Can’t Jump, and he’s also set to star in Doug Liman’s next film The Instigators alongside Matt Damon and Casey Affleck.

]]>MTV VMAs have traditionally been hosted by solo performers, ranging from Doja Cat and Keke Palmer to Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, but the organizers are taking a different approach this year. The hosting trio will share responsibility for introducing the night’s biggest moments, performers, presenters, and winners.
In addition to hosting the show, Nicki Minaj will also be one of its biggest honorees, since she’s set to receive the Video Vanguard Award and perform a medley of her biggest hits.
“Nicki has broken barriers for women in hip-hop with her versatility and creative artistry. She has shifted the music industry and cemented her status as a global superstar with her crossover appeal, genre-defying style, and continuing to be unapologetically Nicki,” said MTV’s Bruce Gillmer.
Minaj’s co-host LL Cool J is no stranger to receiving Video Vanguard Award since he took it home all the way back in 1997. As for Jack Harlow, he came into the ceremony as one of the most nominated artists, with nods in eight different categories.
The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on August 28 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

]]>Florence Welch really kept us waiting for her fifth studio album and it was worth the wait. She teased its release with singles “King”, “Heaven Is Here”, and “My Love” and they’re all amazing in their own right.
Jack Harlow is ready to continue his rise in the world of hip-hop with his second studio album this spring, and the lead single “Nail Tech” did a great job putting it on the map.
Cabello’s third studio album is about a week away and she did a great job teasing it with the lead single “Don’t Go Yet” and catchy song “Bam Bam” featuring Ed Sheeran.
We marks Arcade Fire’s first record in five years and it was preceded by the single “The Lightning I, II”. They hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with their last three albums and we’re yet to see if their upcoming record will find the same success.
It’s been six years since Red Hot Chili Peppers surprised us with a new album, but they’re ready for a comeback. They dropped the lead single “Black Summer” and they’re embarking on a world tour this summer to promote it.

]]>Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow both celebrated the song’s success on social media, but this was an especially big triumph for Harlow since “Industry Baby” happens to be his very first no. 1 single.
“My first number one. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t see this coming while I was writing my verse. Thank you for having me Lil Nas X. This song is something I am gonna be proud to be a part of for the rest of my life. As for what’s next…buckle up,” he wrote on social media.
“Industry Baby” was originally released on July 23rd when it debuted at no. 2 spot, but it didn’t manage to reach the top until now. Its rise to the no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart was aided by a recent release of two new versions of the song, including an extended mix and another one with an alternative digital single cover.

Lil Nas X also revealed that his upcoming album will include songs “Scoop” (ft. Doja Cat), “One of Me” (ft. Elton John), “Dolla Sign Slime” (ft. Megan Thee Stallion), and “Am I Dreaming” (ft. Miley Cyrus).
The full tracklist of Montero includes a total of 15 tracks, some of which were already released as singles. The chart-topping hit “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” will serve as the opening track, and the album will also feature the previously released single “Sun Goes Down”.
Montero will hit the shelves on September 17th. It will be Lil Nas X’s first candidate for the Billboard 200 domination since the release of the rapper’s debut EP 7, which hit no. 2 back in 2019.

]]>We’ve already got to hear one of many great collabs from Montero—“Industry Baby”, featuring Jack Harlow—but there’s more where it came from.
