]]>Mr. and Mrs. Smith is the reboot of the 2005 film starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a married couple, who learn they’re assassins hired by competing agencies to kill each other. AMC initially started plotting a TV series based on the hit movie back in 2007, but this project never saw the light of day.
Amazon Studios decided to revisit this project over 15 years later, with Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge being cast as the leads. She walked away due to creative differences and was replaced by Erskine, while Glover stayed on board as a star, co-creator, and executive producer. Francesca Sloane serves as a co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner.
Coel (I May Destroy You), and The Batman co-stars Turturro and Dano all joined the project in mystery roles. Coel is soon set to appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Turturro is attached to the second season of Severance, while Dano was cast in Steven Spielberg’s semi-biographical film The Fabelmans.

Turturro will be in a pretty good company on the set of Matt Reeves’s new Batman movie. The cast also includes Robert Pattinson in the titular role, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
Turturro’s most recent credits include TV adaptation of Umberto Eco’s timeless classic The Name of the Rose and The Big Lebowski spin-off The Jesus Rolls, which he also directed. He’ll next appear in HBO mini-series The Plot Against America, alongside Winona Ryder and Zoe Kazan.

]]>After decades of hoping, The Big Lebowski is finally getting a sequel — and it now has a name!
The film will follow John Turturro’s character, Jesus, who returns to the real world after serving time behind bars due to being framed as a pedophile.
Written, directed by, and starring Turturro, the film also stars Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou, Jon Hamm, Susan Sarandon, and Pete Davidson.
According to the official synopsis, it will follow “a trio of misfits whose irreverent, sexually charged dynamic evolves into a surprising love story as their spontaneous and flippant attitude towards the past or future backfires time and again, even as they inadvertently perform good deeds. When they make enemies with a gun-toting hairdresser, their journey becomes one of constant escape from the law, from society and from the hairdresser, all while the bonds of their outsider family strengthen.”
Previously titled Going Places, the flick has now been renamed The Jesus Rolls.
Despite having been filmed back in 2016, extended editing meant that it will only be ready for an early 2020 release.
