The cast of The Batman is constantly expanding, and another beloved actor has been added to the star-studded lineup. John Turturro will take on the role of mob boss Carmine Falcone in the upcoming superhero movie.

Falcone controls Gotham City’s criminal underworld, and he’s one of the villains who are working from the shadows, flooding the city with crime and poverty. Tom Wilkinson previously portrayed this role in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.

Turturro will be in a pretty good company on the set of Matt Reeves’s new Batman movie. The cast also includes Robert Pattinson in the titular role, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.

Turturro’s most recent credits include TV adaptation of Umberto Eco’s timeless classic The Name of the Rose and The Big Lebowski spin-off The Jesus Rolls, which he also directed. He’ll next appear in HBO mini-series The Plot Against America, alongside Winona Ryder and Zoe Kazan.
