]]>The 72-year-old actor will star opposite return sequel stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. News of Glover’s casting follows the news that Danny DeVito also joined the cast and news that Awkwafina is in final negotiations to join the project.
The studio is tight lipped about the sequel’s plot line and character details and it is still unknown what character Glover or DeVito will play.
The Jake Kasdan will return as the sequels director. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner.
The first sequel was a box office success, grossing $404 million domestically and $557 million internationally. Despite tough competition from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the film made it to the no. 1 spot in its fifth weekend.
The sequel is set in the present day. It followed four high school students transported into the Jumanji video game while in detention together.

]]>DeVito is the most recent newcomer to the sequel to the 2017 hit feature, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. News of his casting comes just a day after The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina is in final negotiations to star in the film.
DeVito will star opposite returning ensemble including Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black.
While details of DeVito’s character are kept under wraps Johnson did say that, “The magic of Jumanji is who becomes who. And the idea of Danny DeVito joining our cast was too irresistible and something we knew we wanted to deliver to our audience this upcoming Christmas. Dwanta Claus loves everyone.”
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle helmed by Jake Kasdan was a huge hit, hauling $962 million worldwide. It followed a group of four teens transported into the world of Jumanji, where they turn into their adult avatars. The1995 film starred Robin Williams.

]]>The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards took place on Saturday night at the Form in Inglewood, California, complete with famous faces, live voting, and, of course, slime.
Professional wrestler, John Cena, took over hosting duties for the second year running. Shawn Mendes, Mel B, Liza Koshy, and Heidi Klum were just some of the peeps who got covered in green goo.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was awarded Favourite Movie, with its star, Dwayne Johnson, claiming Favourite Movie Actor. Zendaya took home the female equivalent.
In the TV category, Stranger Things shone with the series being named Favourite TV Show, and Millie Bobby Brown being crowned Favourite TV actress. Favorite TV actor went to Henry Danger star, Jace Norman.
Despite announcing their hiatus, Fifth Harmony was named Favourite Music Group, while former member Camila Cabello, was recognized as Favourite Breakout Artist. Shawn Mendes and Demi Lovato were crowned Favourite Male and Female Artist, respectively. Ed Sheeran beat out Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars to claim Favourite Song for “Shape of You.”
