]]>During press conference on Thursday Timberlake was asked by one reporter about the chances for us to see “little NSYNC reunion”. The 37-year old singer gave an answer no one wanted to hear.
“Well … NO” he said smiling.
Ok, if he isn’t bringing NSYNC, will he at least invite Chris Stapleton or maybe return the favor and do a duet with Janet Jackson? The answer is no, and then another no!
“To be honest, I had a ton of grand ideas about special guests,” Timberlake told reporters. “We talked about it a lot. There was a whole list…I think Vegas has a lot of odds on it, I heard, from ‘N Sync to Jay to Chris Stapleton to Janet. But this year, I’m just excited, my band, the Tennessee Kids, they’re my special guests and I’m excited this year to rock the stage. So it’s gonna be a lot of fun.”

Although there will be no flashy superstar guests, we have no doubt that Justin Timberlake will deliver one awesome Super Bowl halftime show performance. Also, his brand new album Man of the Woods is scheduled for release today, and we already had a chance to hear three singles from it. ‘Filthy’, ‘Supplies’ and ‘Say Something’ were all warmly received by the fans and critics, so expectations are high. Knowing the performer Justin is, he will respond in the proper fashion.

This, of course, isn’t the first time Justin Timberlake will find himself performing at a Super Bowl halftime show. His first appearance was at the Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004, where he performed “Rock Your Body” alongside headliner Janet Jackson. The duo’s performance turned to controversy after Timberlake reached the final line of the song, “I’m gonna have you naked by the end of this song”, and removed a part of Jackson’s costume, revealing her right breast. The broadcast cut to the aerial view of the stadium, but not before 143 million people had the chance to see the incident. Although the incident was later described as a “wardrobe malfunction”, there were those who argued that it was a publicity stunt. Both performers apologized for the caused controversy.
Aside from headlining the Super Bowl halftime show, Timberlake is keeping himself really busy. He voiced the lead character in musical comedy Trolls alongside performing the music for the film. The lead single from the Trolls, “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and eventually became the best-selling song of the year in the United States. Although Timberlake currently works on his fifth album, he is also active as an actor and had a supporting role in Woody Allen’s upcoming film Wonder Wheel.
