]]>U2 lead singer Bono, Pharrell Williams, Halsey, Bobby Cannavale, Letitia Wright, Eric Andre, and Chelsea Peretti have been added to the sequel. Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johannsson, Taron Egerton, Tori Kelly, and Nick Kroll will be reprising their roles in the film.
This marks Bono’s first time voicing a character and singing in an animated film. Williams previously worked with Illumination with his tune “Happy” appearing in the soundtrack of Despicable Me 2.
In Sing 2, Buster Moon (McConaughey) and his cast go beyond the local theater and try to perform at The Crystal Tower Theater, which is the most prestigious venue in the entertainment world. To get there they’ll have to impress entertainment mogul Jimmy Crystal (Cannavale). Crystal will let them perform if Buster can convince the world’s most reclusive rock legend, lion Clay Calloway (Bono) out of self-imposed seclusion and get him to perform in the show.
Williams will play Alfonso, an elephant ice-cream truck owner, Halsey will play Jimmy Crystal’s teenage daughter, Porsche, Wright will play a feline dancer, Andre will play a self-important yak, and Peretti will play Jimmy Crystal’s canine assistant and talent scout.
Sing 2 is set for a December 22, 2021 release.

]]>Mangrove focuses on the trials and tribulations of Mangrove 9, a group of Black activists who clashed with London police during a protest march in 1970. Its cast includes Letitia Wright, Shaun Parkes, and Malachi Kirby, and it’s the first chapter of McQueen’s Small Axe anthology series.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker previously opened the London Film Festival with his last feature film Widows, and he said that now’s the perfect time for him to return to this festival with another project. “I couldn’t be happier that Mangrove will open this year’s BFI London Film Festival. Although the themes are universal, Mangrove is a London story. It may have happened fifty years ago, but it’s as relevant today as it was then,” said McQueen in a statement.
The London Film Festival will take place between October 7–18, and it’s expected to feature a mix of physical and online programs.

]]>This intriguing project will take us back to the ‘60s London and trace the struggles of the West Indian community in this city all the way through the ‘80s. McQueen felt this is an important story to tell, and he’s looking forward to reliving, reevaluating and investigating the lives of people who inspired it.
“I think audiences will identify with the trials, tribulations and joy of our characters as well as reflecting on the present environment in which we find ourselves. The dynamic nature of the series allows us to confront injustice in the face of adversity,” said the 12 Years a Slave director in a statement.
Most people know Letitia Wright as Shuri from Black Panther, while her co-star John Boyega broke into the mainstream with the role of Finn in Star Wars movies. They are both winners of the BAFTA Rising Star Award.

]]>As most know by now, Avengers: Infinity War didn’t end too well for many characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But what we didn’t realise until now is just how far that extended…
“The Snap” caused by Thanos resulted in many beloved characters perishing, with the upcoming Avengers: Endgame focusing on attaining revenge for their deaths.
Whilst the majority of the deaths were shown or acknowledged on-screen, the latest round of posters from Marvel includes some revelations that we were not ready for!
The posters are of the films’ characters, with some in color and others in black and white — signifying just who survived The Snap.
And as it turns out, even more of our favourites didn’t make it than we originally thought.
According to the posters, Shuri — the super cool Wakandan princess played by Letitia Wright — was “dusted” off-screen, and fans are not impressed.
Even more reason to avenge the fallen when Avengers: Endgame is released on 26 April.

The young star channeled her inner Shuri after hearing the amazing news, and simply wrote: “just deposit that amount into my bank account.”
Despite her enormous success, Wright is still pretty down the Earth, and she’s not letting sudden fame go to her head. “You can easily get lost in what’s happening, because everybody’s like, ‘This is amazing.’ And then you can think in a way that your ego gets really big, but you shouldn’t. I should remain humble, ‘cause that’s the important thing,” said Letitia Wright shortly after Black Panther hit the theaters.

"this corset is really uncomfortable. so could we all just wrap it up and go home?" SHURI IS SO PRECIOUS AND FUNNY. HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THIS PRINCESS??? pic.twitter.com/67lx8McZZF

While the line was written as a joke, the actress behind Shuri, Letitia Wright, has declared that she would very much like to take on the role of the Marvel superhero.
Whilst attending MCM London Comic-Con, the English actress was asked about taking over as the Black Panther, to which she replied: “If the opportunity came about, then why not? It would be comic book accurate. Yeah, that would be amazing. It means more training, more learning and it would really be an amazing adventure. Shuri becomes a savage in the comic books. From going to comedic and fun and like a kid — to then just pulling out some claws. I’m excited.”
