According to Teller, the follow-up to Top Gun: Maverick might be in the cards, but nothing is official just yet. The 35-year-old actor told Entertainment Tonight that it would be great to come back, but we’ll see what the future holds and it’s all up to Tom Cruise.

In addition to Cruise and Teller, Top Gun: Maverick also starred Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer, reprising his role from the original film. Since its release on May 27, the film grossed over $1.184 billion worldwide, becoming not only the highest-grossing film of 2022 but also the highest-grossing film of Cruise’s career.

Teller and Sperry started dating in 2013, after meeting at a Black Keys concert, and the Whiplash star claims it was love at first sight.

“We both had mutual friends of the band. Keleigh had caught my eye early in the night, and we talked. I didn’t think it went well, but after a few more attempts, I got her to dance with me, and a week later, we went on a date. After we met, I knew she was the one,” Teller recalled in an interview with Vogue Weddings.

Teller proposed to Sperry while on an African safari in 2017, and their wedding was just as epic as their engagement. They made their way to Hawaii, alongside 70 friends and family members, and tied the knot at the beautiful tiny church in Maui. They later took the party to the beachfront at the Ritz Carlton, and performed their first dance to Vince Gill’s classic “If I Didn’t Have You”.

The casting process of the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic is underway, with five Stirling actors all testing for the lead.

Moulin Rouge director, Baz Luhrmann, has been involved with the project since 2013, having written the script with Craig Pearce, planning to produce with his wife Catherine Martin, and also helming the film.

Luhrmann is considering five leading men for the role of the King of Rock ‘n Roll who is the best-selling solo artist in history. Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nocturnal Animals), Miles Teller (Whiplash), Austin Butler (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), and Harry Styles (Dunkirk) have all screen-tested for the part with the final decision set to be announced in a few weeks’ time.

Whoever does enter the Heartbreak Hotel will do so alongside two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks who will play Elvis’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

Those five will all be hoping for a good luck charm.
